Three NFL Players Kneel Kneel On Veterans Day Weekend

While a vast majority of the NFL was trying to convince fans that their National Anthem protests have nothing to do with the military, three players continued to kneel over Veterans Day weekend.

The NFL put on a display prior to, during, and after games trying to show their respect for our veterans throughout broadcast games on Sunday.

Sports media went out of their way to praise players who chose to stand this weekend instead of getting slapped with bad PR for spitting on the service of our fighting men and women. And rest assured, it was all about the PR.

Even Michael Bennett, the Seahawks player who railed against police brutality after allegedly being mistreated when he tried to flee a casino where an active shooting had been reported, was admired for standing during Thursday night’s game.

Still, despite all of the bad publicity they were inviting, as well as the lack of common sense and decency in kneeling for a flag that many people died for, three NFL players chose to continue their protest on Veterans Day weekend.

The 49ers Eric Reid and Marquise Goodwin, along with Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon, all of whom were participating in the same game, took a knee.

I mean, seriously guys. What are you doing? How far off the rails do you have to be to protest America during a weekend set aside to honor our nation’s heroes?

Perhaps this is the reason legendary Dodger baseball announcer, Vin Scully, recently said he’d never watch another NFL game again.

“I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war,” Scully said. “So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.”

Earlier this month, a retired Navy veteran held his own form of protest – boycotting the league when the New Orleans Saints tried to give him an award.

Despite their best efforts to convince people otherwise, NFL players continuing to kneel are going to cause more veterans, and fans in general, to abandon the league.

Do you think players should be fined or suspended for kneeling during the National Anthem? Particularly on a weekend the NFL was trying to convince fans that they care about our veterans? Share your thoughts below!

  1. PoppDavid –

In an effort to protect the OTHER 330 million citizens of these Several United States of America, our Constitutiion not only frees us from unreasonable searches and seizures but also by doing so guarantees that those searches and seizures that ARE performed have to meet certain logical tests. Probable cause, clearly articulating the reason for the stop, terry frisk, etc. Being as you are obviously a trained constitution law expert, please explain to us all what you know to be the reason the shooting officer drew his weapon – at all? In your example, the tail light was likely the reason for the stop. Or so we are led to believe. If cop shot everyone who had a broken tail light… this might be a safer place to drive.. but we know they don’t do that. We can’t even continu to expect everyone to have a drivers license… we now call that ‘racial profiling’ and ‘discriminating’ against foreign nationals (dBa illegal aliens…)

Of all the traffic stops you’ve conducted, what is the first thing that happens as the officer stops the vehicle, then approaches the vehicle, then speaks to the citizen…

Please elaborate why you feel cops execute civilians for broken tail lights?
Please elaborate as to why the officer drew his weapon (knowing already all the things you expound about the rights of a US Citizen… as opposed to say, a citizen of Singapore, Hanoi, Venezuela… )

    1. Oh, before you expound on the Search and Seizure laws, think. The terms are “reasonable” and “body” as in “Corpus”. Can you even clearly define ‘Arrest’..?

If the officer is in control of the situation, he is in control of all the people at the scene, which is probably a good thing…. that’s all the help I’ll give you…

  2. Our Constitution’s Sixth Amendment guarantees every American accused of a crime a fair and swift trail before an impartial jury.
Our Constitution’s Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.

The athletes are protesting the attacks on our Constitution by those who would kill unarmed Americans without trial for trivial causes like driving with a broken tail light, holding with a toy gun in a toy store, running away from a police, riding a bicycle without a light, etc.

Those who take a knee to protest the attacks on our Constitution are on the same side as those who would take a bullet to defend our Constitution. Those who oppose them are on the other side. Where are you?

    1. You can dress it up any way you want. You can call it whatever you want.

These folks are still offending all veterans and active duty personnel who have and are serving our country. It will be this way until the protesters realize what they are doing is the cause of the public outrage.

      1. I call it defending the Constitution, and if you are offended by that, you may be part of the problem.

When I joined the service, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. That “domestic enemies” includes those in government who violate the Constitutional rights of fellow Americans.

You may not care about our Constitution, but I do. Those who stand up or kneel down to protest violations of Constitutional rights are on the correct side. Those who support a police state are on the wrong side.

  3. They can do what they want, I for one will NEVER watch another NFL game as long as I live. If I feel like watching football I’ll watch High School Football on Spectrum. At I know these kids have an education.

  4. They are undeserving of the privilege and fortune they have received by virtue of having been born in this country. Any legitimate grievance they may have had stands revealed as childish hypocrisy.

  5. I stopped watching the week after these highly paid, but somehow “aggrieved” clowns started their kneeling. The chief clown is Kaepernick, the “aggrieved” owner of a palatial multi-million $ estate. I will not watch another NFL game (including the Super Bowl) until Kaepernick humbly and sincerely apologizes to the troops, Veterans and ALL Americans. If they want to do something about the problems they claim exist, let them spend their own time and $ and help QUIETLY!

  6. Will people continue to want to sacrifice the NFL players when they kneel? The mentality of sacrificing people needs to end. Jesus is the only sacrifice that is needed. He did not use the biggest weapon that can ever be against anyone that was in him. Have a broken and contrite heart in you even as the NFL people have. That is the sacrifice that is acceptable unto God.

  7. Two of the guys shown in the picture are Marquise Goodwin and Eric Reid…don’t know who the other A-hole is. M
aybe part of the problem is these guys only have a high school education (despite being in college for a few years) and they are partially brain damaged.

  8. Arrogance. Blacks who think that what they believe is more important than what anyone else believes. It’s become obvious that riots, blockades, crime are already felt to be their right. Isn’t it about time to start enforcing our laws by longer sentences, more executions, and the majority of people demanding an end to those who feel we as a whole owe them the right to do as they please regardless of laws to the contrary. Why do the police shoot so many blacks. Watch the crime videos and you’ll see criminals refusing to obey officers, running to get away and for some reason the police aren’t allowed to shoot fleeing felons. It’s become endemic in america for many blacks to no longer speak our language, to expect the govt. to support them and their kids simply because they are owed it. They now feel that they no longer have to follow any rules of common decency and that everyone else must abide by what they want.

  9. i have a very simple answer to the disrespect of the flag 20k fine for the first time 40k fine for the second and auto ejection from the game yet to be played this will get the other team members to start to help correct the problem children as their income keeps going down.and any bonus they might get is lost each week. if they still do not get it after the third time and 160k fine then they need to be removed from the roster for the rest of the season and all contracts become void.

  10. I think any player that kneels should be immediately fired! No excuse for showing such disrespect not only to our country but to all the brave men and women who serve and served our country. You low life SOBs are pathetic !!!!!

  11. As long as they get paid, these athletes don’t care what we think because they think they are the center of attention and deserve more respect than our military on Veterans Day.
These three who kneel in disrespect to our anthem and flag do not realize that they represent the entire NFL! Their actions just reinforce the public’s distain for the NFL and will encourage more people to tune-out and not support these elite cry-babies.

  12. For many years colleges and Univ. scoured HS football games for prospective players ( of course in those days you couldn’t play if grades were not passing) as time passed grades didn’t matter and HS and Colleges graduated sport players, mainly Football, that were basically illiterate, ask a former Redskin player who admitted he couldn’t read, BUT later went to school so his kids would not be ashamed of him. We need sport players that are a GOOD EXAMPLE to the youth of today, 1st ge an education, and be a good AMERICAN. God Bless the USA and Thanks to all that are serving or have served.

  13. Too late ash wholes! The NFL is done—dead…dead…dead! My Sundays-Mondays-Thursdays are free for family time. Hope the owners and commissioner noballs lose a bundle. The game is over and you all are losers.

  14. They cannot lie themselves out of this what Kappy said was crystal clear, he wouldn’t stand for a flag or country that oppresses blacks and people of color etc. So they stand now too little too late. Get on your knees and apologize to the American people. You spoiled rotten, useless brutes.

  15. It’s been said many times, you can’t fine or punish bad etiquette or manners…you’re either a patriotic American, respectful of your “flag and the republic for which it stands” or you are not. These a–holes are not bringing attention to some supposed inequity in our treatment of the “downtrodden” but are instead converting our national effort to do the exact opposite, by disrespecting the symbol of freedom and fair play. They are, in fact, calling every one of us, who traditionally show respect for those symbols, a bunch of ignorant hypocrites who are blind to their much deeper and superior grasp of noble endeavor. We are witnessing the arrogance of socialism and nothing more.
