A recent study shows political donations from the rank and file at the State Department overwhelmingly favor Democrats, showing just how politicized one of the most powerful and prestigious executive agencies has become.
A report released by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, shows a breakdown of donations from agencies in charge of doling out foreign aid and operating our diplomatic missions around the world.
They indicate the results are “profoundly disturbing.”
“In brief, we found that well over 90 percent (and sometimes 100 percent) of employee contributions went only to Democratic candidates and causes,” they write.
Their findings, they suggest, either point to “systemic and institutionalized discrimination in employment” or pressure within to make donations to one preferred party.
One chart shows just how dramatic the bias at the State Department is.
$910,000 in donations from “regular staff” went to ActBlue, a Democratic PAC, and $626,000 went to the Biden campaign. By contrast, $26,000 went to WinRed, a Republican PAC, and $84,000 went to the Trump campaign.

State Department Donations Aren’t the Only Problem
The Heritage Foundation reports that slanted political donations aren’t just a problem at the State Department.
A staggering 96% of donations coming from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) go to Democrats and Democrat causes, and a mere 4% to Republicans.
Within the agency, the report analyzes the top 10 grantees distributing foreign aid. Every single one was determined to have contributed to Democrats at a rate of over 90%.
Every single one.
The Heritage analysis focused exclusively on institutions that provide foreign aid with an eye on a $70 billion-plus foreign assistance budget requested by President Biden.
“Before American taxpayers are asked to foot this bill, they should be confident that their funds will not be misused to finance a Washington-based patronage system that benefits the most radical elements of American society that seeks to replicate itself globally,” they write.

Threat to Our Democracy
The heavily Democrat-leaning donations from the rank-and-file employees at the State Department put some recent actions in context.
Twitter/X CEO Elon Musk exposed a little-known State Department agency this past February – the Global Engagement Center (GEC) – as a leading source of federal censorship efforts in the United States and “a threat to our democracy.”
The GEC was outed in an installment of the ‘Twitter Files’, described by journalist Matt Taibbi as a “fledgling analytic/intelligence” arm to participate in guiding Twitter’s moderation of content prior to Musk’s arrival.
They flagged accounts spreading COVID information – not misinformation – as “Russian personas and proxies.”

“The worst offender in US government censorship [and] media manipulation is an obscure agency called GEC,” he tweeted.
“They are a threat to our democracy,” Musk added. “That is the line they fed the media about me.”

Aside from State Department donations showing blatant bias, the Department of Justice has amped up its political motivations on steroids since President Biden took office.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has run the most politically motivated DOJ in modern history, jailing political opponents after specious claims of an insurrection, fielding requests to look at parents as domestic terrorists under the Patriot Act, and criminally pursuing pro-life advocates.
And that was before the indictment(s) of Donald Trump.
According to Open Secrets, political donations at the DOJ are equally as skewed. During the 2020 presidential campaign, Democrats received $2.16 million in contributions from the department.
Republicans got only $361,000.
