Tennessee Pens Hilarious Bill Blasting California’s Travel Ban

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra recently blocked travel by state employees to a total of eight states over perceived anti-LGBT laws.

One of those states in the original travel ban was Tennessee.

The law that California took umbrage with included a statute allowing state-licensed therapists and counselors to refer members of the LGBT community to other counselors who may better fit their needs and beliefs.

Well, lawmakers in the Volunteer State weren’t going to sit idly by as California liberals engaged in “economic warfare.”

So they passed a bill through the Tennessee State Legislature, signed by governor Bill Haslam, that destroys California’s ridiculous travel ban.

“California’s attempt to influence public policy in our state,” the bill reads, “is akin to Tennessee expressing its disapproval of California’s exorbitant taxes, spiraling budget deficits, runaway social welfare programs, and rampant illegal immigration.”

Ouch!

They then mock the Golden State, saying they’re “pleasantly surprised that California will not be sending its economic development teams to Tennessee to recruit our businesses, but we can still send our teams to recruit their businesses.”

In other words, we’ll be glad to continue poaching businesses and jobs from your failed state.

That is simply an amazing effort by Tennessee lawmakers.

Here is the resolution in its entirety:

Marc Rylander, communications director for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, also took to mocking the leftist cesspool of a state.

“It’s funny how the very state that is so adamantly against keeping terrorists out of our country – they oppose the president’s travel ban – now wants to keep Californians out of Texas,” he told the Houston Chronicle. “I guess that’s California logic.”

Speaking of liberal logic. Since we’re speaking of travel bans and such, perhaps we should refer to California’s ban in the same way the media does when it comes to President Trump’s travel ban. You know, the ban on travel from ‘Muslim-majority countries.’

California has issued a ban on travel to eight ‘conservative-majority’ states. Why do they think it’s okay to discriminate against conservative states?

That seems … What’s the word? A little “xenophobic.”
