Ever since Ted Cruz starting hitting Donald Trump negatively, Cruz’s poll numbers have gone down. You will never hear that from his supporters and followers, and believe me, there is a difference. The latest Gallup Poll shows an enormous dip in favorables for the Texas Senator.
Now Cruz wants to battle Trump one-on-one, forget everyone else, winner take all for the Iowa Caucuses. Are you crazy? Why would the GOP frontrunner agree to that type of debate? Trump has nothing to prove. He’s been working hard for the last six months or more, building up his base, and bringing in more voters from the Democrat party and first-time voters. It’s a movement, and Cruz wants to relegate it down to a one-on-one debate, where his lawyer skills will take over.
From The Hill:
“If Donald is afraid of Megyn Kelly, I would like to invite him on your show to participate in a one-on-one debate between me and Donald, mano y mano,” Cruz said during an interview on “The Mark Levin Show,” adding that Trump could choose the moderator.
And the fact that Donald is now afraid to appear on the debate stage, that he doesn’t want his record questioned, I think that reflects a lack of respect for the men and women of Iowa, that he’s unwilling to go to Des Moines and be questioned.”
Cruz also argued that Trump dropping out of the debate shows that the front-runner isn’t qualified to be president.
“This is a job interview, you need to be willing to answer the questions of the American people, and if Donald is afraid to defend his record, that speaks volumes,” he said.
Here’s the Cruz tweet that set off the fury:
I challenged @realDonaldTrump to a one-on-one debate. Tell him to accept: https://t.co/wUZHtRpaj4 #DuckingDonald pic.twitter.com/xjCvjS7yyx

Disappointed in @tedcruz for his reaction to @realDonaldTrump. How can you complain about a fund raiser for the wounded warriors? SMH
