Stephen Colbert Launches Vile Attack On Trump Over Coronavirus – ‘You’re A Monster’

From well before Trump's inauguration to present day, the late night host has gone after the president.

Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert is a late night television host who has become known for launching deranged attack after deranged attack on Donald Trump every night. Last night, he went after the president once again, this time for his handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

In Colbert’s opening monologue on Monday, the leftwing host touched on a coronavirus tweet that Trump posted earlier in the day.

“So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year,” Trump wrote. “Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

After imitating the President, Colbert said, “OK, let me think about that. You’re a monster.”

“Here’s the thing,” Colbert added. “We can criticize Trump’s golfing and tweeting. But when he hunkers down and focuses on the problem, that’s when he really sucks.”

Not stopping there, Colbert shifted to comments Trump made at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) last week where he alleged that the “vast majority” of those who get the virus will recover.

“Don’t worry, about a thing, because the vast majority of things are gonna be alright,” sang Colbert, changing the lyrics to the classic Bob Marley song “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.”

Colbert also talked about Trump’s comment that he can handle the coronavirus because his uncle was a “super genius” professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), according to Breitbart News.

“I don’t care how smart your uncle was!” Colbert shouted. “Epidemiology is not genetic! You don’t get your mother’s eyes and your father’s PhD. Knowledge does not get passed down in the family. That’s why, no matter how much we all know it now, future generations are going to have to learn for themselves that you’re an idiot.”

It’s truly sad what has happened to late night television in the past few years. Gone are the days when Americans could take a break from politics to watch a late night talk show that would make everyone laugh, regardless of political affiliation.

These days, late night talk shows like Colbert are bitter, angry pieces of liberal propaganda that have thrown out the bulk of their humor in favor of ranting against the president in the craziest ways possible.

If Colbert thinks that he’s swaying people from voting for Trump again, he’s completely delusional. At this point, he’s alienated every member of his audience who isn’t a radical leftist, so he’s preaching to the choir with his Trump attacks. Colbert has ruined what little credibility he ever had by showcasing his Trump Derangement Syndrome every night, and his rants won’t impact Trump’s chances of being reelected come November.

Nice try, Colbert, but you’re wasting your time.
