Single Again: Ilhan Omar Officially Divorces Husband

Representative Ilhan Omar has officially divorced her husband and father of three children, Ahmed Hirsi, just months after reports of an alleged affair with a married political consultant.

The Minnesota Democrat filed for divorce in October citing an “irretrievable breakdown of the marriage relationship.”

Yes, affairs with your own consultants due tend to put a strain on the relationship. Just ask the man in question, Tim Mynett, whose wife filed for divorce and blew the lid off the entire relationship with Omar.

“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the Mynett filing stated.

Now, Omar and Mynett are free to carry on their relationship in public it would seem.

“Anyone going through a divorce is glad when it is over and this case is no exception,” a lawyer for Omar said.

Denied Dating Anyone

As reports surfaced showing Omar clearly out on the town with Mynett while still married to Hirsi, the freshman lawmaker tried denying she was dating anyone.

WCCO asked if she was separated from her husband or if she was dating anyone at the time, to which Omar indicated she didn’t want to talk about her “personal life.”

“No, I am not,” Omar insisted. “I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue and so I have no desire to discuss it.”

Except, as with most things involving the seedy marital world of Omar, it wasn’t just about her personal life.

The affair with Mynett was troublesome because Omar’s campaign appeared to have funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to his consulting firm.

Marital Mess

If you’re having a tough time following all of the marriages and affairs Omar has engaged in – official and unofficial, between relatives and not – you’re not alone.

Omar married Hirsi in a religious but unofficial capacity in 2002. They separated in 2008, again not legally recognized. In 2009, she married Ahmed Elmi, whom she divorced in 2017 only to marry Hirsi again (officially) in 2018.

And now, the divorce and affair.

Even the best-planned flow chart would have difficulty keeping up.

This past June, the left-leaning Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported on documents that raised questions as to whether Omar married her own brother – Elmi – as a means to “skirt immigration laws.”

Aside from possibly skirting immigration law – a resume enhancer for a Democrat – Omar has been the recipient of tax fraud allegations, marriage fraud allegations, immigration fraud allegations, and campaign finance violations.

In June, the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board ruled that Omar repeatedly violated campaign finance law by using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses while serving on the state legislature in 2016 and 2017.

She was ordered to personally reimburse her campaign thousands of dollars and pay a civil fine of $500.

Yet, Omar sits here and consistently pretends to be on the moral high ground when it comes to railing against President Trump’s behavior.

Despite a laundry list of illegal activities and suspicious behavior, Omar believes her political opponents despise her because they’re racists who can’t accept that she’s “one beautiful package.”
