According to the Mark Belling radio show, David Clarke is resigning as Milwaukee sheriff.

This bombshell revelation was backed up by a reporter from Vice News:
David Clarke is resigning as Milwaukee County Sheriff. I dread to imagine where he is going.

A NBC affiliate in Milwaukee also confirmed that his letter of resignation was received at approximately 3:17 pm local time.
It’s not yet known what Clarke’s next move will be. Earlier in the year, it was reported that Clarke was going to take a position in the Trump Administration. That never came to be. It’s also rumored that Clarke may run for the U.S. Senate, though he has quashed those rumors. If Clarke reverses his position and decides to run for Congress, he would have a powerful ally in the White House.
Clarke has been a strong voice for law and order in America and has been a strident defender of President Trump. Whatever his future plans may be, Clarke will likely continue to support Donald Trump’s agenda to make America great again.
