An aide to Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) was warned about posting nude photos to social media even as he was given a promotion, but the congressman’s Chief of Staff reportedly didn’t push the issue because he viewed it as “impeding on the personal expression of an openly-gay staffer.”

Aidan Maese-Czeropski posted a story to his Instagram page that has since been deleted regarding news of his promotion. Images of his post were published by The Desk who spoke to an anonymous source within Cardin’s office.

In it, Maese-Czeropski referenced the promotion and seemed to taunt Chief of Staff Chris Lynch over his warning.

“Chief of staff just promoted me and in the same breath suggested I tone down my social media,” he said.

The promotion allegedly took place in November.

Maese-Czeropski has been widely identified across multiple sources as the person appearing in a video published by the Daily Caller having sex with another man in Hart Senate Office Building room 216.

Senate Aide Who Filmed Porn In Hearing Room Has a History of X-Rated Social Media Posts

According to reporting by The Desk, Cardin’s aide has a history of posting questionable images to social media, some kept as viewable only to a private group of “close friends,” but others made public.

The source tells the outlet that Maese-Czeropski’s Instagram page was “something of an open secret” within Cardin’s office, noting that he often posted nude and seminude photographs there.

Some of the public posts linked him to his Senate job, including a pair that made sexual references regarding Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rep. Eric Sorensen (D-IL).

While it may have been “suggested” that he tone down the social media posts, the source tells The Desk that Lynch didn’t follow up on the matter because he was afraid it would be deemed insensitive to ask a gay man to act professionally.

Cardin’s Chief of Staff, according to the report, told one staffer that Maese-Czeropski’s posts were “made on a personal account” and that the office “didn’t want to come across as impeding on the personal expression of an openly-gay staffer.”

Those fears may have been somewhat understandable, as Maese-Czeropski immediately played the victim in a statement posted to his LinkedIn page after being outed for filming porn in the Senate.

“This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda,” he falsely contends.

Cardin Finally Breaks Silence

Senator Cardon finally broke his silence on the senate aide who filmed himself appearing in amateur porn in a Senate hearing room.

“I was angry. I was disappointed,” Cardin told Fox News. “It’s a breach of trust.”

Cardin has never named Maese-Czeropski as the individual in the Senate porn video, citing it as an ongoing “personnel issue.”

He has admitted to an aide being fired, however.

Personnel, according to this latest report, knew that Maese-Czeropski was capable of firing off inappropriate material on social media and apparently didn’t stop it because they were concerned about being branded homophobic.
