Senator John Kennedy Cusses Democrats For Blocking Coronavirus Relief For Americans

Kennedy

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) called out his Democrat colleagues for blocking debate on legislation meant to provide financial relief to Americans during the coronavirus crisis.

It wasn’t just an isolated tirade either.

Kennedy began by dressing down Democrats on the floor of the Senate, calling them “stupid” and a “bunch of idiots,” and concluded with an interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday in which he referred to them as “a-holes.”

Why Democrats Are Making America Suffer

Earlier in the day, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took to the Senate floor and explained why Democrats are holding up financial relief for struggling Americans.

“Democrats won’t let us fund hospitals or save small businesses unless they get to dust off the Green New Deal,” he alleged.

“I would like to see Senate Democrats tell New York City doctors and nurses, who are literally overrun as we speak, that they are filibustering hospital funding and more masks because they want to argue with the airlines over their carbon footprint,” McConnell added.

Or that “they are continuing to hold up emergency measures over tax credits for solar panels.”

Kennedy Unleashed

Senator Kennedy wasn’t about to hold back the rage he was feeling towards his Democrat colleagues who chose to play politics when the American people need Congress to help them.

“Do you know what the American people are thinking right now? They’re thinking that the brain is an amazing organ. It starts working in a mother’s womb, and it doesn’t stop working until you get elected to Congress,” he quipped.

He later added that the American people are “thinking that this country was founded by geniuses but is being run by a bunch of idiots” and that “members of the United States Senate continue to double down on stupid.”

He’s Angry

Kennedy is angry, and rightfully so. His comments on the floor of the Senate perfectly encapsulate how Americans are feeling right now as Democrats chose to stall relief to play politics.

But he truly captured the mood when he spoke to Fox News host, Tucker Carlson.

“People are losing their jobs, they are losing their savings, they are losing their 401(k),” Kennedy said. “We think we know how to get the economy back on its feet over the next 60 to 90 days until we can get control of the virus – and some of my colleagues are acting like a-holes.”

It’s not an act, Senator Kennedy. It’s not an act.
