In an upcoming interview on CBS Evening News, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff states that calling Hunter Biden as a witness during the impeachment trial would be an “abuse” of the proceedings.
Schiff conceded that it would be fair for President Trump’s defense team to call witnesses, but Biden, son of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden, would be off-limits and an “illegitimate” selection.
“It would not be appropriate for the president to seek to call witnesses merely to try to perpetuate the same smear campaign that was foiled when his plot was discovered,” the California Democrat told CBS.
Schiff then pressured Supreme Court Chief Justice John Robert to rule against calling Hunter as a witness.
“That’s an illegitimate abuse of the trial,” he claimed. “And the chief justice, who may have an opportunity to rule on materiality of witnesses, as well as the senators, should not permit that kind of abuse.”

Republicans Want Him to Testify
Joe and Hunter Biden are at the crux of the entire impeachment scam, contrary to what Schiff would like the American people to believe.
The process began due to a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky – a phone call that transcripts and Zelensy himself have revealed was a “good phone call,” adding that “nobody push[ed] me” to investigate Joe or Hunter.
It was a phone call that prompted a whistleblower who is a registered Democrat and worked with former Vice President Biden to report his concerns. Was he more concerned about Trump’s alleged pressure on Ukraine, or his former boss’s son?
Republican Senator Rand Paul is looking forward to seeing Hunter Biden as a witness.
“My [Democrat] colleagues can’t have it both ways. Calling for some [witnesses], while blocking others,” Paul said. “If we are going to give a platform to witnesses the Dems demand, I look forward to forcing votes to call Hunter Biden and many more!”
Sen. Rand Paul said he will force the Senate to vote on whether they want to hear impeachment testimony from Hunter Biden if his colleagues support hearing from witnesses proposed by Democrats.https://t.co/IMQrqtOMLy

Drag Schiff In Too
Senator Paul has explained that he’d like to see Biden testify since the whistleblower was a compromised witness “because he worked for Joe Biden at the same time Hunter Biden was receiving $50,000 per month.”
Question: “The whistleblower laws protect the whistleblower. You know it’s illegal to out a whistleblower?”

Perhaps Schiff’s insistence that Senate Republicans calling witnesses they’d like to hear from is more self-preservation on his part.
President Trump has called on the Senate to bring in Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to testify. Would they also be ‘illegitimate’ in Schiff’s eyes?
