Sarah Sanders Shuts Down April Ryan’s ‘Ridiculous’ Question About Trump Resigning

CNN contributor April Ryan, a fixture in the White House press room, apparently let her wild hopes and dreams loose in a line of questioning that speculated about the possibility of President Trump resigning due in part to the FBI raid of his lawyer’s home, office, and hotel room.

Ryan practically expressed hope that a resignation was considered due to a week of ‘turmoil.’

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders shut down Ryan’s inquiry by calling it “absolutely ridiculous.”

“With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president, at any time, thought about stepping down before or now?” Ryan asked.

“No, and I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous question,” Sanders responded in an instant.

Ryan insisted that her absolutely ridiculous question was not absolutely ridiculous, despite indications that it indeed was thoroughly ridiculous.

“It’s not ridiculous,” Ryan responded, carrying the hopes and dreams of never Trumpers, desperate to find something impeachable in everything the President does, with her.

“It’s a legitimate question,” she repeated.

Sanders swatted her away, saying “I gave you two questions, April, we’re moving on.”

Move on they did.

As for the other question, Ryan asked why the FBI would need to raid lawyer Michael Cohen’s home if he had been cooperating with them.

It too was a feisty exchange.

“The President said yesterday he was complying, they turned over a million documents,” Ryan asked. “If he was complying with the investigation why was there a search warrant?”

“This doesn’t have anything to do with the President,” Sanders fired back. “When it comes to matters of the special counsel and dealing with the President we’ve been fully cooperative.”

Ryan and Sanders have had a terrific working relationship – Ryan asks idiotic question and Sanders promptly swats them out of the park.

This past February, Ryan asked what was so un-American about Democrats sitting down during the President’s entire State of the Union address.

“I think its un-American not to be excited about the fact that more people in this country have jobs than they did before, the fact that more people in this country have higher wages than they did before, the fact that the economy is booming like it wasn’t before, the fact that ISIS is being crushed like it wasn’t before,” Sanders fought back.
