Attorney General Loretta Lynch addressed the wide-spread Russian hacking narrative, saying “we didn’t see the sort of tactical interference that I know people had concerns about.”

Lynch was asked about the impact Russian hackers may have had on the 2016 election. Counter to the prevailing news being peddled by Democrats and the liberal media, Lynch said there was little evidence the Russians had violated the integrity of the U.S. election system.

“The Department of Homeland Security was actively engaged in reaching out to every state to make sure that they had access to every resource they needed to protect the state electoral system,” she explained.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t see the sort of tactical interference that I know people had concerns about also, in terms of voting machines and the like.”

Attorney General Loretta Lynch spoke at an event with Politico’s Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman Thursday morning. there, she was asked about reports that Russian hackers could have impacted the results of the 2016 election. Lynch said that there was no evidence that Russian hackers breached the integrity of the U.S. election system.

“Fortunately we didn’t see the sort of technical interference that I know people had concerns about, also, in terms of voting machines and the like,” Lynch said.

Lynch also commented on the ‘Intelligence Community’ releasing a statement on the Russian hacks just before the election, something she said was more about restoring faith in the process than in trying to determine results.

“We began in the summer to look at what we could save publicly about this issue, and that’s why you saw the Intelligence Community released its statement in October, a month before the election letting the American people know that the Intelligence Community had determined that Russia was behind the hacks themselves,” Lynch said. “The investigation is ongoing, certainly the review was continuing, but, you know, we rarely do that kind of public attribution.”

She added, “It was important in this instance because the election affects everyone … And it isn’t even a matter of the results, it’s people’s faith in the system and the faith in the integrity of the system.”

That’s when she revealed that the ongoing investigation showed no “technical interference” from Russian hackers.
