It has just been confirmed that the conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh was laid to rest on Wednesday at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday.

Rush Limbaugh Laid To Rest

Limbaugh was laid to rest in a private cemetery two days ago.

“Security was very tight as a horse-drawn carriage was brought in to carry ‘El Rushbo,’ as he was known to his fans, to his final resting place,” 97.1 FM TALK reported.

“Sources say the north St. Louis County cemetery was closed to the public for several hours Wednesday, as an estimated 40 family members and dignitaries had to clear security before being allowed through the gates,” it added.

“Many expected Limbaugh to be buried in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Instead, he will rest in eternity alongside some of St. Louis’s most famous residents.”

Kathryn Limbaugh, the radio host’s widow, told the Southeast Missourian that a virtual ceremony will come later.

Tributes To Rush Limbaugh

“Missouri’s native son Rush Limbaugh was laid to rest today. Rush’s legacy in our state and across the nation will not be forgotten,” Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R) said in a statement.

Limbaugh was 70 years-old when he died on February 17 after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer, which he had been battling since January of 2020.

DeSantis had said that Florida will fly its flags at half-staff on Friday, when Limbaugh’s body is laid to rest.

“There’s not much that needs to be said, the guy was an absolute legend,” the governor said. “He was a friend of mine and just a great person.”

DeSantis Honors Limbaugh At CPAC

On Friday, DeSantis kicked off the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) with a stirring tribute to Limbaugh, according to Fox News.

“Rush displayed the courage of his convictions time and time again,” DeSantis said. “Rush was one of the first to fight and win against cancel culture. Rush showed that fighting the left requires strength and that conservatism devoid of backbone is doomed to fail.”

“So at this moment in our history, and I think Rush showed us this, but particularly now, standing for the right things comes at a cost,” he added. “You may be attacked, you might be smeared, you may even be canceled by the major organs of the political left … When the left comes after you, will you stay strong or will you fold?”
