Our prospective congressmen aren’t body-slamming reporters anymore – but a staffer for Senate candidate Roy Moore is under scrutiny for coming close.
The scandal-plagued candidate was preparing to speak in Henagar, Alabama, before an altercation between Moore’s campaign staffer Tony Goolesby and a cameraman broke out. Take a look:

So who were the cameramen, and what did they do to provoke such a response? Were they liberal reporters in the area?
To everyone who's asking, here is a post on Roy Moore's official campaign website identifying Tony Goolsby (the man physically accosting the cameraman in my video from tonight's Moore rally) as the Moore campaign's Dekalb County (Alabama) chairman: https://t.co/RBiNY622It

It turns out the reporters are both employed by Fox News, which is the only network that hasn’t totally pounced on Moore after allegations of sexual misconduct with teenagers. Shannon Bream covered the story on Fox News @ Night, reporting “He [Goolesby] decided to push the cameras back and physically manhandle two of our photographers. It’s not unusual for people to get bumped around a bit in the media scrum, This was not a scrum though. It is highly unusual for members of a political campaign to physically engage in this manner with members of the press.”
Goolesby also grabbed their cameras. According to BizPacReview, “Reporters were told Moore was going to use the front entrance, but when they discovered the embattled candidate heading another way, they tried to get a shot. It would seem Moore was trying to stay out of sight from reporters, and Goolesby became more than a little agitated when Moore was spotted.”
Oops.
You know you’re in trouble as a Republican if you wind up in a beef with Fox News – and Goolesby has just made that much more likely. Moore’s Bill Armistead issued a statement that could fairly be classified as “apology-like,” but it reads as your typical generic, pre-written “apology.”
2 Fox News crews pushed & shoved as they cover Roy Moore in Henagar, AL. Moore chairman Bill Armistead: “Our campaign certainly doesn’t condone any pushing or shoving of anyone, certainly not reporters or anyone else.”
