Mitt Romney’s Profile Change Spurs Speculation That He’s Running For Senate

Don’t call it a comeback!

Former presidential candidate and governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, made a subtle change to his Twitter profile that has set the political world ablaze.

Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, the longest-serving Republican senator, announced his retirement earlier this week.

Within hours, Romney changed the location on his profile from Massachusetts to Utah, fueling speculation that he’d be running for the soon-to-be vacant seat.

Romney currently owns a home in Holladay, Utah.

Readers of the Political Insider have long heard speculation that both Hatch would be retiring and Romney would be running for his seat. Now, the first half has come to fruition, and with the location change, one can only assume Romney will be throwing his hat in the ring before too long.

Despite the change to his Twitter profile, Romney kept his comments about Hatch’s retirement strictly to thanking him for his service as senator.

“I join the people of Utah in thanking my friend, Senator Orrin Hatch for his more than forty years of service to our great state and nation,” Romney said in a statement. “Ann and I wish Senator Orrin Hatch and his loving wife Elaine all the best in their future endeavors.”

Romney has already received an endorsement from faux conservative Evan McMuffin.

Romney was very critical of Trump during the 2016 campaign, then was passed over for the job of secretary of state after seemingly being paraded and strung along by the President.

Romney running would create quite a dilemma for Trump – endorse him in the hopes of keeping that seat Republican, or exact vengeance by putting his money on another candidate.

No doubt he’ll do what’s best for the conservative agenda.

Will Romney run and win the seat in Utah? Tell us your prediction below!
