During an exclusive interview with The Political Insider, longtime Trump insider, and legendary Republican operative Roger Stone discussed the criminal charges leveled against his former business partner Paul Manafort and the plea deal by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
But Robert Mueller’s investigation isn’t ready to wrap up just yet. And Stone believes he knows who is about to be indicted next: Donald Trump Jr.
As Stone told The Political Insider, “The special counsel is going to charge Donald Trump Jr. with lying to the FBI. Notice they’re not charging him for having an illegal meeting with a Russian at Trump Tower because there’s nothing illegal about that meeting. Or put more precisely, the only thing illegal about that meeting was how the woman got in the country, how she got a visa from the Obama State Department, and why she was meeting with an official from Fusion GPS before and after the Trump Tower meeting… This is clearly a time when the Deep State, the entrenched political establishment, is making their move.”
When James Miller asked a follow-up question, Stone confirmed that Donald Trump Jr. is in Robert Mueller‘s crosshairs:
“I believe so. And notice they aren’t going after him for the underlining crime because there is no crime. He’s done nothing wrong. But he went in for multiple interviews- All they’ve got to do is catch you in one discrepancy. Where or not that discrepancy is meaningful or not is almost immaterial.”
