Ricky Rebel Explains His Pro-Trump Outfit on the Grammys’ Red Carpet: ‘Their Jaws Dropped’

Along with Joy Villa, musician made a major cultural splash on Sunday night by expressing unwavering support for the president

Musician Ricky Rebel made quite a statement on the Grammys’ red carpet on Sunday night when he chose to wear a Make America Great Again outfit (pictured above) in support of President Donald Trump.

Announcing support for the president in today’s seriously left-leaning Hollywood is quite a bold move when one considers the backlash conservatives regularly receive in the mainstream entertainment industry today.

But Ricky Rebel was one of two artists to show announce support for Trump at the Grammys.

Star Joy Villa also walked the red carpet wearing a Make America Great Again purse and a dress that announced, “Build the wall.”

Rebel chatted with “Fox & Friends” on Fox News on Tuesday morning about his decision to wear his striking outfit — and why he supports the president.

“Here’s a president who came out and said he wanted ‘jobs, jobs, jobs.’ He wants more money for Americans. He put America first,” Rebel said.

“I thought: That’s amazing. That’s what I want to do as a person. So he inspired me to become the new alpha.”

Rebel also told the “Fox & Friends” team and audience that his Make America Great Again jacket is reversible — so he was able to surprise red carpet walkers and photographers when he revealed the pro-Trump statement.

“Their jaws dropped,” the musician said.

“And I loved it.”

“I don’t like the hatred that’s being spewed on Trump supporters.”

Rebel, a California native who’s been active as a singer, performer and entertainer for more than 20 years, said he is particularly offended by the backlash and hatred that’s spewed at Trump supporters today.

“I get that some people might not like everything about him and I respect their opinions … I don’t like the hatred that’s being spewed on Trump supporters. It’s gross,” he said.
