Republican Lawmaker Calls Trump’s Civil War Tweet ‘Repugnant’

President Trump shared a quote suggesting a “civil war-like fracture” will be the end result of the Democrats push for impeachment and removal of him from office.

The quote came from Pastor Robert Jeffress, a Fox News contributor, during an appearance on ‘FOX & Friends’ this past Sunday.

“If the Democrats are successful in removing the president from office, I’m afraid it will cause a Civil War-like fracture in this nation from which this country will never heal,” Jeffress cautioned.

Trump shared the statement along with others reminding the American people that the only impeachable sin Trump has ever committed is in defeating their chosen one, Hillary Clinton, in the 2016 election.

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL) decided to avoid reading comprehension in analyzing the quote and instead flew off the handle about Trump suggesting a call for a new Civil War in America.

“I have visited nations ravaged by civil war,” Kinzinger tweeted. “I have never imagined such a quote to be repeated by a President. This is beyond repugnant.”

Um, what?

How did the Congressman read this quote and completely ignore the phrase ‘civil war-like’? Apparently hyperbole and metaphors aren’t a thing in the era of Trump, where every word is parsed and taken in the literal context.

What’s ‘beyond repugnant’ is joining the left in a ridiculous hate mob over something so mundane just to get attention from their followers. Kinzinger is just another rat jumping off what he perceives to be a sinking ship.

It should be noted that Kinzinger, along with an aide to former House Speaker Paul Ryan, was one of the first recipients of the infamous Steele dossier, according to court memos back in 2018. Don’t recall him immediately tweeting about the repugnance of such a document.

“Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats … know they couldn’t beat him in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, they are increasingly aware of the fact that they won’t win against him in 2020,” Jeffress also said during his interview.

“Impeachment is the only tool they have to get rid of Donald Trump and the Democrats don’t care if they burn down and destroy this nation in the process.”

Perhaps Kinzinger thinks that’s a literal reference as well. He should probably focus on the fact that Democrats are trying to divide Americans and illegally remove an elected President from office instead of entertaining their hysteria.
