Two top aides to former President Donald Trump had their cellphones seized while roughly 40 other associates were issued subpoenas as part of the Justice Department’s investigation into the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
The uptick in activity reportedly involves a deeper dive into conversations and involvement in an alleged scheme to replace electors.
The New York Times is reporting that in-house counsel Boris Epshteyn and Mike Roman, a former campaign strategist, had their cellphones seized in the sweeping operation.
They also note that federal officials have “blanketed” Trump’s aides with about 40 subpoenas.
Fox News defines the DOJ’s actions as “a rapid escalation in pressure applied to the Trump camp by the DOJ.”
A rapid escalation just eight weeks out from a critical midterm election.
So Biden’s DOJ is now sending subpoenas and going after Trump allies, including his lawyers. Has a sitting presidents DOJ ever gone after their political opponents like this?

Aside from marking a “rapid escalation” of events, President Biden’s Justice Department actively pursuing his political opponents marks an unprecedented abuse of power.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson obtained some of the subpoenas in question.
Carlson opined that the information being sought in the subpoenas is “both unlawful and without precedent in American history.”
“Merrick Garland’s DOJ is demanding all communication” from the individuals subpoenaed, according to Carlson. “What is this? On what grounds are you demanding my private communications with people? They never say.”

“It shocks the conscience of everyone who sees it,” Carlson added, “but the number of people who see it is very small because it is not covered by any media.”
Democrats Were Never Subjected to This Political Harassment
Perhaps in hindsight one of former President Trump’s most egregious mistakes was not knowing Democrats would pursue him and his supporters with such voracious malice.
When Trump entered the White House in 2017, he never went after the ‘resistance’ party.
Democrats, in fact, objected to the election results in 2016 officially and during the proceedings certifying electoral votes 11 separate times.
When Congress met on January 6, 2017, to certify Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory, Democrats objected 11 times to accepting the results of the election.

None of them were subpoenaed. None of them had their cell phones seized. They weren’t accused of insurrection.
Free speech, Carlson explains, is a “core freedom” that allowed them to object to the election results.
“That’s why nobody prosecuted leading Democrats in 2016 when they sought to reject electors for Donald Trump,” he explained. “It’s why none of those people, including Kamala Harris, is now in jail.”
More than 30 people associated with fmr. Pres. Trump have received federal grand jury subpoenas over alleged efforts to influence the 2020 election results, a “significant escalation” in the DOJ’s investigation into the origins of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, says @MacFarlaneNews. pic.twitter.com/qu1sgJDvxQ

Carlson’s colleague at Fox, Jesse Watters, suggested the onslaught verbally and now legally by the Biden administration is the President’s perceived “war on terror.”
“When the Bush administration was spying on Muslims, raiding their homes, and arresting them, the Democrats were up in arms. Remember?” Watters asked. “‘What about the terrorists’ rights? Bush has gone too far.’”
“Now Biden’s using Bush’s war on terror language and tactics against Republicans.”

The Political Insider reported earlier this month that the DOJ said they would adhere to a guideline holding off on any possible charges against Trump until after the midterm elections.
The policy meant “prosecutors are barred from taking investigative steps or filing charges for the purpose of affecting an election or helping a candidate or party, traditionally 60 days before an election,” according to Bloomberg News.
We now have cellphones being seized and subpoenas handed out left and right just 56 days out from the midterms.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
