Politico is reporting that far-left progressives such as the ‘Squad’ and Bernie Sanders are actively working to primary and phase out Democrat candidates they consider to be too establishment-oriented.
The revelation is yet another example that the Squad and the socialist faction of the party are actively yanking Democrats further and further to the left.
Politico writes that progressives “are aggressively contesting” in deep-blue House districts “in an effort to stop establishment-oriented Democrats from claiming the offices.”
“Progressives want to elect the most liberal members possible in these Democratic-held areas — especially when their party’s razor-thin majority in the House gives them more clout to influence the chamber’s agenda than in past years,” they add.
Politico goes on to report that Bernie Sanders, members of the Squad, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus are all taking action to get their preferred candidates elected.

The Squad Is Growing – Moderate Democrats Are Fading
The Politico report is nothing to scoff at. What once was a fringe group of extremists unrepresentative of America is more becoming the mainstream in the Democrat Party.
Just think of all the things the Squad has been able to bait and pressure House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) into doing in the last few years.
“We are more than four people,” Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) defiantly declared in the midst of a rhetorical battle with former President Trump in 2019. “Our squad is big.”
In 2020, it only got bigger.
Far-left Democrat Cori Bush won her race in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, while others who the Daily Mail considers additions – New York’s Jamaal Bowman and Mondaire Jones – did as well.
Bush has been the more vocal radical of the new entries since coming to Congress, demanding President Biden move to grant clemency to everybody currently sitting on death row and actively calling not only to ‘defund the police’ but to ‘defund the Pentagon.’
Your modern-day Democrat Party, ladies and gentlemen.
So, @JoeBiden bombs Syria and kills the minimum wage hike, confirming every fear progressives had. Soon they’ll renege on getting $2000 checks to everyone in the middle class by limiting who gets it (to appease their donors). The establishment is back! And it absolutely sucks.

Establishment Democrats Are Losing To The Extremist Wing
Politico notes that the clash between establishment Democrats and the extremist element of the party can be seen “as lawmakers debate top liberal priorities such as a $15 minimum wage, student loan debt forgiveness, and police reform.”
President Biden has shied away from such priorities. He backtracked on student loan forgiveness and practically begged Democrats to stop – openly at least – running campaigns on platforms to defund the police.
Now, the opposing forces within the party are fighting on the $15 minimum wage.
Politico reports that the Senate parliamentarian decided to exclude the wage hike proposal from the latest COVID relief bill “because it doesn’t meet the stringent budgetary requirements of reconciliation.”

President Biden opposed overruling the Parliamentarian, with White House chief of staff Ron Klain squashing the idea in an interview on MSNBC and the White House releasing a statement saying Biden “respects the parliamentarian’s decision and the Senate’s process.”
Today Biden approved an airstrike in Syria & the Senate parliamentarian shot down federal minimum wage hike through reconciliation. Dems can overrule her but Biden doesn’t want to. Dems will lose everything in the midterms & possibly the next general. And they’ll deserve it.

Progressives are now pressuring Biden to reverse course.
“We cannot allow the advisory opinion of an unelected parliamentarian and Republican obstructionism stop us from delivering on our promise to voters,” the caucus Congressional Progressive Caucus tweeted Thursday night.
“Workers are counting on us to #FightFor15 and finally #RaiseTheWage for millions.”
Vice President Kamala Harris has the power to overrule the Senate parliamentarian but the White House has thus far eschewed that possibility.
The Politico report goes on to address several races in which far-left progressives are getting involved in either to unseat establishment Democrats or to at the very least pull them further left.
