Republican Senator Rand Paul obliterated Obama CIA Director John Brennan for his “completely unhinged” response to President Trump’s comments about the intelligence community and Russia.
Brennan stated that Trump’s statements at a meeting in Helsinki, Finland, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, had risen and exceeded the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” (RELATED: House Democrat Calls For ‘Military Folks’ To Stop Trump).
“It was nothing short of treasonous,” Brennan claimed. “Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???”
Trump fired back, saying Brennan “is a bad person” who allowed Russian meddling in the elections to take place under his watch.
“Well, I think Brennan is a very bad guy and if you look at it, a lot of things happened under his watch,” he said in an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.
How did a CIA Director go from being lawman to this flailing member of the resistance?
Paul has had enough, leveling Brennan in a scathing critique as “the most biased, bigoted, over-the-top, hyperbolic sort of unhinged director of the CIA we’ve ever had.”
Oof … Tell us how you really feel, Mr. Paul.

“I agree completely,” Paul said in siding with Trump’s assessment that the former CIA director is a bad guy. “I think John Brennan’s completely unhinged and you see him now calling the president treasonous.”
“I really am worried that he was head of the CIA for so long harboring all of that bias,” he added, noting that Brennan was in charge of the “most powerful intelligence gathering group on the planet.”
He also pointed out that Brennan, who believes any relationship with Russia amounts to treason, began his career by supporting the presidential candidate from the Communist Party USA in 1976.

Paul also defended Trump on CNN during an interview with Wolf Blitzer, in which he called out Brennan again along with former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
“When you look at the intelligence community, the most recent leaders of the intelligence community, James Clapper and John Brennan,” he explained, “James Clapper perjured himself!”
He reminded Blitzer that Clapper “lied to the Senate, said they weren’t collecting our information and yet they were collecting all of our information and housing it in Utah.”
He’s right. Clapper has indulged in multiple instances of perjury and lying throughout his career, yet suddenly we’re supposed to take the word of these guys saying President Trump is doing something wrong?
#WhereIsTheServer And is it crazy to think we should blindly trust the same Intelligence community who perjured itself in the past. @RandPaul makes good points . James Clapper, John Brennan and the Clinton’s should be tried for treason https://t.co/caE1pnLstv

Clapper somehow managed to avoid perjury charges after he stated in an open session of the Senate Intelligence Committee on March 12, 2013, that the intelligence community never knowingly gathered information and data on Americans.
“Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?” Senator Ron Wyden had asked.
“No, sir,” Clapper responded, adding “Not wittingly.”
Information leaked shortly thereafter by Edward Snowden showed the NSA did indeed collect metadata including phone calls and internet data on U.S. citizens.

Clapper also lied about whether or not he leaked information in the Steele dossier to the media.
A House Intelligence Committee report claimed Clapper spoke to CNN about the Steele dossier, despite his claims in an interview with CNN that he did not interact with the media about the dossier prior to leaving his position with the Obama administration.

For his part, Brennan almost certainly lied to Congress when he testified that he didn’t know who had commissioned the Steele dossier and that it never played a role in their taking action.
Clapper countered that, confessing that the Steele dossier did help shape the intelligence community’s assessments and actions.
Clapper would also later contradict statements that there was no spying on the Trump campaign, admitting that there were informants looking at collusion but supposedly not looking at campaign officials specifically.
“They were spying on, a term I don’t particularly like, but on what the Russians were doing,” he said. “Trying to understand were the Russians infiltrating, trying to gain access, trying to gain leverage or influence which is what they do.”
Trump took aim at Brennan tweeting excerpts from an interview with former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino. (RELATED: Trump Rips Brennan – ‘Disgrace to the Intelligence Community’).

Former US attorney Joe DiGenova believes the effort to frame President Trump in a counterintelligence investigation was led by one man Brennan but openly agreed to by Clapper. (RELATED: Former US Attorney: Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan Led Group Trying to Frame Trump).
“What you have here is a criminal plot by senior people: John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, senior Department of Justice officials to suborn the presidency of the United States through the use of false evidence,” he said.

And we’re supposed to believe this pair of snakes now that they want to throw around charges of treason? If anybody should be charged with high crimes and misdemeanors, it’s Brennan and Clapper.
