Two things to watch here – a glaring lack of media coverage, and the liberal hypocrisy involved in a protest they don’t agree with.
A little over a week ago, students across the nation were lauded for taking a political stance on gun control, for leading their generation, and forcing a public narrative on the need for restrictions on the Second Amendment. We’re, of course, talking about last week’s National School Walkout, or as we called it back in the day, Senior Skip Day.
Now, a student in California is trying to organize a pro-life walkout at his school, causing numerous liberal heads to explode because protests involving something they disagree with simply does not compute. Will the media fawn over this future leader?
Brandon Gillespie, a student at Rocklin High School in Sacramento, is staging a walkout to protest abortion, saying the event is “to honor all the lives of … millions of aborted babies every year.”
He even has the simple hashtag “#Life.”

Gillespie’s planned walkout was inspired by Rocklin history teacher Julianne Benzel, who dared question whether schools would allow such a thing over abortion like they did for gun control. She was subsequently suspended.
“I just kind of used the example which I know it’s really controversial, but I know it was the best example I thought of at the time—a group of students nationwide, or even locally, decided ‘I want to walk out of school for 17 minutes’ and go in the quad area and protest abortion, would that be allowed by our administration?” she reportedly asked her students.
Gillespie would like to know the answer to that as well.
“I would like to see if there really is a double standard and what will come of that,” he said of his pro-life walkout.
Naeirika Neev, editor of the Rocklin student paper that promoted the anti-gun walkout, said Gillespie’s protest has no place in schools.
“Abortions aren’t really anything that has to do with school or students here,” she said. “They have their First Amendment, they can go protest about that anytime anywhere.”
First of all, of course, abortions have something to do with schools. Babies lost due to abortion will never get to set foot on school grounds. It’s about the safety of future students.
Second, everybody ‘has their First Amendment,’ and everybody ‘can go protest about (whatever) anytime, anywhere.’
Thanks for proving his point.
The very first quote in Neev’s article about the gun walkout states, “I’m here because I’m tired of people dying.”
That’s exactly what an abortion walkout would be about.
I would highly encourage pro-life students to organize a walkout very soon. Let’s all see how the schools suddenly change their tune about political demonstrations in school.

Benzel called Gillespie “unbelievably brave and courageous” for testing the school and seeing if they have a double standard or not.
He plans to meet with the school principal on Friday to discuss the walkout plans.
