President Trump just drew a line in the sand.

Late last night, the Senate voted to approve an omnibus spending bill that is chock full of Democrat bribes and special favors. The bill has a price tag of $1.3 trillion, and has been a tough sell with fiscal conservatives. But Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell were able to shepherd it through their respective chambers.

Trump has already said that the bill contains a lot of waste:

But now it looks like the spending bill doesn’t even include a key promise of Trump’s campaign: funding of the border wall with Mexico. And, just as importantly, it does nothing to address the uncertain position of those affected by DACA, the Obama-era program that legalized the status of minors brought to the country illegally.

Trump has demanded border wall funding in exchange for DACA-style amnesty for months. Now Congress has let him down. Check out Trump’s warning:

This is quite a gambit. Trump is threatening to shut down the government unless Democrats get their rears in gear and fund the wall while also providing a solution to those protected by DACA.

This is a high-stakes move that could end with Washington closing down at the end of the day. The government is only funded until just before midnight tonight.
