Poll: Biden Officially Underwater As Strong Majority Disapproves Of His Foreign Policy

President Joe Biden’s job approval is underwater according to a new poll, with 42 percent approval for his job to date and 50 percent who disapprove.

The poll was conducted by Quinnipiac University and was released on Tuesday.

Quinnipiac: ‘This Is The First Time Biden’s Job Approval Has Dropped Into Negative Territory’

With 42 percent approving and 50 percent disapproving of Biden’s job performance, Quinnipiac reported, “This is the first time Biden’s job approval has dropped into negative territory since taking office. In early August, 46 percent of Americans approved and 43 percent disapproved of the way Biden was handling his job.”

“In today’s poll, Democrats approve 88 – 7 percent, while Republicans disapprove 91 – 7 percent and independents disapprove 52 – 34 percent,” Quinnipiac noted.

On foreign policy specifically, Biden performs even worse.

Only 34 percent approve of Biden’s foreign policy actions, versus 59 percent who disapprove.

The President’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan – which resulted in a terrorist attack that killed 13 American soldiers, and left behind an untold number of Americans – is weighing heavily with voters.

In the preceding Biden poll on this issue, the president had 42 percent approval and a 44 percent disapproval ratings.

Quinnipiac Analyst: ‘If There Ever Was A Honeymoon For President Biden, It Is Clearly Over’

Not surprisingly, 65 percent disapprove of how Biden handled the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Only 31 percent approved of how he handled it.

A high number – 62 percent – believe American troops will end up returning to Afghanistan to deal with terrorism. Only 28 percent do not believe this will happen.

Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said, “If there ever was a honeymoon for President Biden, it is clearly over. This is, with few exceptions, a poll full of troubling negatives… from overall job approval, to foreign policy, to the economy.”

Biden has faced a lot of criticism for his Afghanistan policy or lack of from members of both major parties and also his recent announcement of federal vaccine mandates.

Quinnipiac’s poll follows an Economist/YouGov poll that showed Biden’s approval rating at a dismal 39%.

With Democrats holding razor-thin majorities in both houses of Congress, Biden could very well end up dragging the party down.
