Pelosi Predicts Democrats Will ‘Certainly’ Win the White House in 2020

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, playing the role of election prognosticator, says that Democrats will not only win the House and flip the Senate in 2020, but will “certainly” defeat Donald Trump as well.

Confidence is great. We expect her to have it. But we also suspect Hillary Clinton was pretty confident right up until votes started being counted in 2016.

Pelosi’s optimism seems a stretch considering we’re still 14 months out from the next presidential election. Still, she’s predicting a Democrat president with control of both Houses of Congress.

“When we win – I anticipate that we will win the House and hopefully win the Senate and certainly win the White House,” she told CNBC’s Jim Cramer, “but in the course of all of that, let’s use our energy to have health care for all Americans.”

Speaking further in-depth on the health care topic, Pelosi again said it can all be addressed “when we win.”

“I always say to people when we win, we can put everything on the table and see what it means in terms of benefits for the consumer, cost to them, and cost to business, to corporate America which has been a lot of the price, as well as the cost to the federal government and local government,” she explained.

Cramer went on to ask Pelosi if there was a way “to reign people in” in her own party.

That’s not a priority, however. While Pelosi likes to fancy herself the level-headed leader of the resistance party, she has more often than not walked in lockstep with extremists in her party.

Earlier this summer, she and Representative Ilhan Omar, a rabid anti-Semite and terrorist sympathizer, taunted the President with pictures of them holding hands in “Mother Africa.”

“They said ‘send her back’ but Speaker [Pelosi] didn’t just make arrangements to send me back, she went back with me,” Omar giddily tweeted. “So grateful for the honor to return to Mother Africa with the [the Black Caucus] and commemorate The Year of Return!”

Cramer asked Pelosi if she has the best relationship with President Trump, whom she once said she’d like to see hauled off to prison.

“I don’t know if anybody has a good relationship with the President,” she lamented. “But he is the President of the United States and I do respect the office that he holds. And where we can find common ground, we have an obligation to do so.”

Odd, since they have common ground in finally recognizing the humanitarian crisis at the border and Democrats have yet to work with him on a solution.

Pelosi’s past predictions have been somewhat lacking, making her optimism this time around somewhat surprising.

“Donald Trump is not going to be President of the United States,” she said in 2016. “Take it to the bank, I guarantee it.”

If it’s all the same to you, Ms. Pelosi, we’re going to hold onto our money.
