House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed President Trump on Monday for his renewed push to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census, claiming it is an effort to “Make America White Again.”
Last week, the President indicated he would consider using an executive order to insert the citizenship question into the census.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross originally announced in 2017 that the next census would add a question about citizenship, explaining it is “necessary to provide complete and accurate Census block level data.”
Pelosi, no fan of legal immigrants or American citizens being accurately represented so they can receive government services, believes the notion of asking about citizenship is racist.
At a press conference in San Francisco, Pelosi declared that the Trump administration “want[s] to make sure that people, certain people, are counted.”
“Just their people vote and not the general population. That’s why they’re fighting the census,” she added. “This is about keeping – you know … his hat – Make America White Again.”

The flip side to that is Democrats just want illegals to vote which would be tantamount to allowing a foreign nation to interfere in the integrity of our elections. We thought even the left viewed that as a bad thing, no?
Ocasio-Cortez Believes Trump Should Be Impeached Over Census
As extreme as Pelosi’s comments are, they pale in comparison to New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who has said the President should be impeached for asking the question of citizenship.

“Like the census, there is you know I can’t even – tax bill. It’s like what can – like there is just so much,” she sputtered when asked why she supports impeachment.
Why the Citizenship Question
In reality, the administration’s move is simply an effort to reinstate a question previously removed by the Obama Administration. Who, using Pelosi’s reasoning, apparently wanted to Make America Illegal Again … or something.
Pelosi added that an accurate census is “disgraceful and “not what our founders had in mind.”
It was the Founding Fathers who enshrined in our Constitution the importance of statistics as a vital tool for measuring people, places and economy.
“Think about it, $15-20 billion [to be spent on a census] and you’re not allowed to ask if someone’s a citizen,” President Trump lamented.
Attorney General William Barr on Monday said he has found a legal means to add the citizenship question to the census.
There is “an opportunity potentially to cure the lack of clarity that was the problem and we might as well take a shot at doing that,” Barr said, responding to a Supreme Court decision to block the question on the basis that it seemed “contrived.”
Pelosi has also complained that the President’s merit-based immigration proposal, widely viewed as a reasonable solution to overhaul the current system, was an effort to “make America white again.”
