The Mueller probe just became real.
This morning, at approximately 8:15 am, Paul Manafort, the former chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, turned himself over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI had ordered him to surrender to federal authorities this morning. His business associate Rick Gates was also ordered to turn himself over to the authorities.

From the New York Times: “The charges against Mr. Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, were not immediately clear but represent a significant escalation in a special counsel investigation that has cast a shadow over the president’s first year in office.”
This wasn’t surprising. The FBI raided Manafort’s home this past summer, which is only something that could be authorized by a judge if there was proof of criminal activity.

Manafort has been under investigation for tax fraud and money laundering for some time. It’s not at all clear that the crimes Manafort is being indicted over have anything at all to do with the Trump campaign. That didn’t stop liberals from celebrating a perceived win:

Guess What? He was also the Top Man At the TRUMP Campaign!#MuellerMonday
