Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued her tenuous relationship with reality Thursday, taking a swipe at an “older male member” of the GOP for posing with a cardboard cutout of “young female legislators.”
There’s just one problem – that older Republican turned out to be a prominent Democrat.
Ocasio-Cortez shared a tweet from the Republican Party of Kentucky featuring a gentleman standing next to a cardboard cutout of the New York socialist.
“GOP: Let’s pose our older male members next to cardboard cutouts of young female legislators,” she wrote.
Embarrassing Gaffe
Ocasio-Cortez was clearly insinuating that the older gentleman standing next to a cutout of a young woman was creepy. Perhaps she thought the man was catcalling her.
Regardless, the new voice of the Democrat party had to quickly delete the tweet when it turned out the man in question is Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY).
Amazingly, the throwback being referenced in the tweet is a story about the Louisville Democratic Socialists threatening Yarmuth with a primary if he doesn’t conform to their radical ‘Medicare for All’ platform.
In that threat, they cited Ocasio-Cortez’ stunning primary victory in New York.
We think @RepJohnYarmuth should ask Joe Crowley what happens to representatives that break promises and oppose Medicare for All.
Maybe @AOC can tell you where to find him nowadays.https://t.co/wnf8WnBqwG

Adding to the trifecta of stupidity, Ocasio-Cortez, just minutes after mistakenly calling a Democrat colleague an ‘old male Republican,’ mocked GOP politicians and pundits as being “1st grade readers.”
That’s called projection, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez.
GOP already bad-faith attacking “nonviolent offenses.” Clearly if you are looking at CONTEXT CLUES in my thread & limits of 280 chars you know I’m referring to nonviolent drug offenses.
Swear it’s like we’re back to encouraging 1st grade readers when it comes to some “pundits.”

An Explainer For the Challenged Democrat
Let’s explain this in terms that a first-grader can understand.
Yarmuth is a Democrat. He is on the budget committee. He is the chairman. This chairman needs to find a way to pay for your $93 trillion Green New Deal.
Better yet, Ocasio-Cortez is a co-sponsor on Budget Committee Chairman Yarmuth’s bill, the Appalachian Communities Health Emergency Act (ACHE).
Did she really not know this? Does she even read?
1st grade readers are in fact the worst. pic.twitter.com/pOBZ07loeG

Ocasio-Cortez has had a banner month of April. Aside from inadvertently mocking an older Democrat as creepy, she has accomplished the following feats in just the last couple of weeks:
- Claimed the Department of Veterans Affairs offers “the highest quality care to our veterans.”
- Said the President should be impeached for providing tax cuts to the middle class and asking about citizenship on the Census.
- Narrated a bats*** crazy short film about the Green New Deal.
NRCC national press secretary Michael McAdams blasted Ocasio-Cortez, referencing that video.
“Maybe spend less time making coloring books like a 4-year-old and more time getting to know your fellow socialists — even the old white male ones you seem to hate like John Yarmuth!” he wrote.
Come now, that’s more like second-grade work.
