Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says She Won’t Shake Trump’s Hand at State of the Union

As a self-described socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gets a lot of attention. The Democratic congresswoman is constantly in the headlines and on television because of the outrageous things she says.

Here’s another one: Wednesday night, Ocasio-Cortez told TMZ she will attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address but will not shake his hand. The TMZ reporter asked her if she will be in the “front row, extending your hand,” at the address to Congress.

“You know, probably not my hand, but I’ll be there, and I’ll be present to see and listen to what’s going on,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.

This is not surprising considering that the Democratic congresswoman has called Trump every negative thing imaginable.

Ocasio-Cortez recently said there’s “no question” President Trump is a racist. “When you look at the words that he uses, which are historic dog whistles of white supremacy, when you look at how he reacted to the Charlottesville incident, where neo-Nazis murdered a woman, versus how he manufactures crises like immigrants seeking legal refuge on our borders, it’s night and day,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez’s agenda includes universal socialized healthcare, free education for all, guaranteed jobs, and she believes housing is a human right. In other words, socialism – something that has been tried time and again around the world for decades and always with disastrous results. The entire 20th century is a testament to this failed ideology that belongs in the dustbins of history, not a relevant topic promoted in the House of Representatives.

Has Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez never heard of the Soviet Union? Or Cuba? Or China? Or even Venezuela?

Yet despite advocating for a political ideology that would bring tyranny to the United States, the newly elected congresswoman refuses to shake hands with the President of the United States.

Perhaps President Trump should refuse to shake hands with her?
