Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, championing radical gun control measures being implemented in New Zealand, including gun confiscation, expressed that this is what “leadership looks like.”
The radical freshman congresswoman celebrated New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s reaction to last week’s terror attack that killed 50 people at two separate mosques.
Ardern announced that her country was immediately banning “military-style semi-automatic weapons.”
“We will ban all high-capacity magazines. We will ban all parts with the ability to convert semiautomatic, or any other type of firearm, into a military-style semi-automatic weapon,” the prime minister said.
“In short, every semi-automatic weapon used in the terrorist attack on Friday will be banned in this country.”
Confiscation
A video clip shared by Ocasio-Cortez included a statement by Ardern which provided a pathway for law-abiding gun owners to surrender their weapons to authorities.
“We are asking all current holders of military-style semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles to visit www.police.govt.nz,” she advised. “In the next 48 hours, a form will be available on this site that we are asking these gun owners to complete, identifying what banned guns they hold.”
“The police will then arrange for these weapons to be handed over, and eventually destroyed,” Ardern added.
Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist darling she is, celebrated the extreme gun measures and plans to confiscate weapons.

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch was quick to level Ocasio-Cortez for celebrating the dismantling of rights that are inherent in America’s Constitution.
“That’s also what an entirely different country that doesn’t have the right to bear arms as a cornerstone of its Constitution, in addition to numerous state laws,” Loesch said. “It’s also what confiscation and banning most semi-auto looks like, too.”
In a separate tweet, Ocasio-Cortez also called for the banning of all semi-automatic weapons, bump stocks, and high capacity magazines.
They’re Not Hiding It Anymore
Ocasio-Cortez joins the rest of her party which has done little in the way of hiding their desire to take guns from law-abiding Americans.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, actually considered the rational voice amongst the resistance party these days, hinted that a Democrat president might use a national emergency declaration to change gun laws.
“Let’s talk about today: The one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America,” Pelosi said, referencing the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
“That’s a national emergency. Why don’t you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would,” before warning, “but a Democratic president can do that.”
New York Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez have long sought to come for your guns.
Governor Andrew Cuomo once declared that “mandatory sale” and “confiscation could be an option” in New York, while his colleagues in the state Senate created a wish list that included plans to confiscate so-called “assault weapons,” confiscate ten-round clips, and set up a database for every gun in the state.
Now, of course, an inexperienced, ignorant, freshman congresswoman from New York is using a tragedy in New Zealand to promote these same anti-American ideas.
