Ocasio-Cortez ACCUSED of Ethics Violations AGAIN!

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez found herself in hot water again on Thursday when a conservative watchdog group called for an ethics investigation into “AOC’s” fundraising methods.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics that accused Ocasio-Cortez of “improperly using taxpayer-funded resources and official action for political purposes in violation of numerous House ethics rules.”

Big No-No

It seems the freshman Democrat has used official House of Representatives footage on her political Twitter and Instagram accounts, which is a big no-no. Using such footage violates House ethics rules that prohibit the use of tax dollars for “solicitation of contributions.”

Ocasio-Cortez has apparently featured links for contributions on her official House web page and also linked that to her campaign Instagram. Congressional ethics rules prohibit official social-media accounts from being used by campaigns.

Ethics rules state clearly that “broadcast coverage and recordings of House floor proceedings may not be used for any political purpose.”

FACT was not going to let these incidents go unnoticed.

“Representative Ocasio-Cortez has not only violated the most basic congressional ethics laws on the books, she has done so repeatedly,” said Kendra Arnold, Executive Director of FACT. “These laws exist so that elected representatives are not using official business on behalf of the American people to push a political agenda or gain a political advantage.

“These are clear violations and the Ethics Committee needs to act,” Arnold said.

Prior Accusation of Ethics Violations

This complaint comes on the heels of another filed with the FEC asserting Ocasio-Cortez may have been illegally funneling money to her boyfriend.

“Payments made to Riley Roberts, the boyfriend of New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have spurred an FEC complaint filing from a Republican group,” The Political Insider reported last week. The Coolidge Reagan Foundation filed the complaint alleging that the socialist Democrat may have illegally funneled thousands of dollars through an allied PAC to Roberts.”

Has “AOC” broken the law in either case? If she has, what will the penalty be? WILL there be a penalty?

Or perhaps these are just rookie mistakes, as she is likely to claim. If she does take this route, it makes it even worse.

How can she be entrusted with handling taxpayer dollars, when she can barely handle her own?
