Obamas Make Offer on Luxurious Martha’s Vineyard Estate

The nearly 7,000-square-foot mega-mansion is right on the beach and has two guest wings — the property is listed at a price of nearly $15 million

Barack and Michelle Obama have made an offer on a luxurious 29-acre estate in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, after they rented the same home this summer.

Multiple outlets including Fox News are reporting that the “mega-expensive” estate is right on the beach — and that it has two guest wings, seven guest rooms, and nearly 7,000 square feet.

Although the property is listed at a price of $14,850,000, sources told TMZ the Obamas would be paying “less.”

The Obamas previously purchased a nine-bedroom house in Washington, D.C.

That 2017 purchase cost them $8.1 million, according to multiple sources.

The potential purchase comes at a time when the couple appears poised to rake it some serious money from other opportunities that have come their way, Fox News pointed out.

The former president, who had a net worth of about $40 million last year, created a documentary with his wife that’s been called their “first big anti-Trump statement of 2020.” The documentary is reportedly about a Chinese billionaire who opens a factory in an old General Motors plant — and hires 2,000 blue-collar American workers.

Michelle Obama received a $65 million book advance for her now-best-selling memoir, “Becoming,” while the pair also worked a $50 million deal with Netflix.

The New York Post reports that Michelle Obama charges $225,000 in speaking fees — and together with her husband could be worth as much as $135 million.

A New York-based veteran and father, hearing about the potential Martha’s Vineyard purchase by the Obamas, commented bluntly, “If they’re so worried about the black community as they’ve said they are, what exactly are they doing about that?”

He added that he feels “they go around the world putting down our country much of the time … Yet look at the opportunities this country has brought them. Where’s the gratitude?”
