President Trump Thanks Obama for ‘Beautiful Letter’ Written to Him

Ever since Donald J. Trump was elected America’s 45th president, the left continuously played up the supposed disdain then-President Obama had for his successor. While Presidents Trump and Obama certainly have distinct political views and beliefs, the two men are part of an exclusive group of men that will bond them for life – Presidents.

It is customary for the outgoing president to pen a letter to his successor, offering him advice and words of wisdom from their experience, and Barack Obama did just that. President Trump showed what a gracious man he is, calling Obama’s letter “beautiful” and “so well written.”

In the video, courtesy of ABC News, President Trump observed “I doubt many of them were written in this manner. In fact, I called him and thanked him for the thought that was put into that letter.”

From The Hill:

“It was long. It was complex. It was thoughtful. And it took time to do it, and I appreciated it and I called him and thanked him,” Trump said. While Trump said nothing in the letter surprised him, he pointed to one section of Obama’s letter that he thought was “very interesting.” “He said, ‘You know, if I thought your healthcare plan was going to be better’ than his plan, ObamaCare, ‘I would support it.’ And I believe he would,” said Trump.

Trump also noted that during the car ride from Capitol Hill to the White House with the Obamas, he pointed out to Obama that the ride was “weird” after the vitriol of the presidential campaign, during which the Obamas campaigned hard for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.   “We didn’t discuss the negative, we only discussed the future and the positive. And we really get along well. Now again, he may say differently, but I don’t think he would,” he said.

President Trump’s comments about Obama’s letter show his pure class. Liberals, who try and diminish President Trump every chance they can, will likely be furious when they hear how kind President Trump was to his predecessor.
