Obama Defeated Yet Again By Second Amendment Supporters

Supporters of the Second Amendment won another victory against the Obama Administration when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced they are shelving a ban on ammunition used in AR-15 rifles for the time being. This announcement was a reaction from the overwhelming opposition to the ban from the public who sent over 80,000 comments disagreeing with the ban.

President Obama has failed again at trying to limit Second Amendment rights. Vocal opposition from the public was strong. The Second Amendment Foundation began a six figure ad campaign on Monday targeting this ammunitions ban. A majority of Congressmen and Senators said they opposed the ban. The White House was counting on law enforcement groups to support the ban. Instead, some group vocally opposed the ban. These roadblocks forced the ATF to table the ban until they could do more research.

The White House had called the ban “common sense,” as they were claiming that the ammunition could pierce through armor. But, Congress banned armor piercing ammunition three decades ago. Second Amendment supporters saw this current push as a way to enact a backdoor ban on AR-15 rifles.

Second Amendment groups cheered the victory, but are reminding supporters to keep the pressure on the ATF since the announcement was written in a fashion that left the door open to banning this ammunition at a later date.

President Obama keeps failing at his repeated attempts to limit the Second Amendment. Why do you think he is focused on revoking this right? Please comment below.
