Delusional Obama Says He Could Have Won Election – Trump Sets Him Straight With Two Words

Obama 2016

In true narcissistic form, President Obama declared in an exit interview that he could have won the election again if his name were on the ballot, taking a swipe at both Hillary Clinton and President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump countered that assertion with a two-word slap back to reality – “No way!”

Obama argued that Americans still support his progressive agenda and that he likely would have won the election if he was eligible to run.

“I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” Obama told his former senior adviser David Axelrod in an interview for the The Axe Files podcast.

Trump fired back on social media, delivering a retort that was simple but extremely accurate.

In an interview with CNN’s David Axelrod on ‘The Axe Files’ podcast aired Monday, President Obama expressed his belief that, had he been permitted to run for the high office in 2016, his dedication to hope, unity, and betterment would have propelled him to a victory.

However, Donald Trump seems to disagree, stating on Twitter hours later, “President Obama said that he thinks he would have won against me. He should say that but I say NO WAY! – jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc.”

President Obama is simply trying to salvage the tattered remains of his legacy – a legacy that he himself declared to be on the ballot in November.

“My name may not be on the ballot, but our progress is on the ballot,” President Obama during a dinner with the Congressional Black Caucus in September. “And there is one candidate who will advance those things. And there is another candidate who’s defining principal, the central theme of his candidacy is opposition to all that we have done.”

Guess which candidate won?

During the 2014 election, Obama also put himself on the ballot during midterm elections in which disdain for him was the defining force. The result was Republicans taking back control of the Senate.

In 2010, as Obama supported his fellow party members, Democrats lost the House and ceded the majority of governorships in 2010.

In fact, President Obama’s legacy being on the ballot has been a godsend for Republicans, resulting in devastating numbers of seats being lost by Democrats over his eight years in office.

Trump is right, there is “no way” Obama would have beaten him in this year’s election.
