Week 8 NFL Empty Stadium Seats Roundup

Here we go again. Another week, another roundup of empty stadium shots.

As players’ National Anthem protests continue, fans’ outrage grows. NFL stadiums are half empty, or have a significant number of empty seats compared to usual.

Last week I took you around the league, detailing the sorry state of the NFL through brutal pictures of empty seats at stadiums. This week is not much different.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has admitted, “There is no question the league is suffering negative effects from these protests.” And now he is leading the charge to delay a contract extension for League Commissioner Roger Goodell.

This week, the Houston Texans got involved in the Anthem protests (they had previously stood and locked arms) after their owner was quoted as saying, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison.” The vast majority of the team took a knee during the National Anthem to spite their owner. Because that’s what the Anthem is all about, isn’t it? Patriotic history and symbolism be damned, the Star-Spangled Banner must be turned into a political statement to show opposition to the president or anyone else you don’t like.

Evidence mounts that NFL fans stand against the players’ disrespect of our flag and all that it stands for, and they are showing it by not showing up.
