A new national poll from IBD/TIPP is the first to show Dr. Ben Carson surging to the head of the pack in the GOP field, perhaps signaling a change of momentum as Donald Trump slips to second place.
Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, and Jeb Bush rounded out the top five.

Donald Trump has boasted that he’s “leading every poll and in most cases big.” Not anymore. The latest IBD/TIPP Poll shows him in second place, seven points behind Ben Carson.
The nationwide survey found that 24% of Republicans back Carson, compared with 17% who say they support Trump.
Marco Rubio came in third with 11% and Carly Fiorina fourth at 9%. Jeb Bush, once considered a prohibitive favorite, ranked fifth with just 8% support, which was a point lower than those who say they are still undecided.
It marks the first time that anyone has led Trump in polling in roughly three months.
Carson appeared on Sean Hannity’s show and reacted to the new poll numbers.
“People are used to double-talk. And they’re used to politicians saying whatever is politically expedient,” Carson explained. “Right now, they’re looking for something that they can truly believe in.”
He suggested that it’s his outsider status that is carrying Trump and himself to the top of the heap.
We’re not “going to be corralled by the political establishment,” he suggested. “I’m not going to let someone sit there and pull my strings.”

It should be noted that Carson’s resurgence began at the same time the media was trying to paint him as an Islamophobe over his comments that a Sharia Law-compliant Muslim who would not adhere to Constitutional law should not be President.
Take note media, it looks like the people are siding with Carson on this one.
