Nearly Half of Young Democrats Prefer Other Countries to America

A shock new poll by Pew Research has revealed that 47 percent of young Democrats think that other countries are better than the United States.

Young Democrats Hate America

The survey was conducted in September by Pew’s American Trends Panel and published this month. Young Democrats were far more likely to say that other countries were better than America, with 47 percent of respondents aged between 18 and 29 who identified as Democrats or Democrat-leaning responding as such. More than a third (36 percent) of all Americans in that age demographic answered in kind, with only 21 percent of all Americans agreeing that other countries are better than the United States. 55 percent of young Democrats aged 18 to 29 said that America was one of the best nations, while only 5 percent said it “stands above all countries” in the world.

“Democrats have become more likely to say there are other countries that are better than the U.S.,” says Pew Research. “In telephone surveys, the share of Democrats saying this is higher than at any point since the question was first asked by Pew Research Center in 2011, and there has been a corresponding decline in the share saying the U.S. stands above other nations.” 55 percent of young Democrats also believe it would be “acceptable if another country was to become as militarily powerful as the U.S.,” compared to 36 percent of the general population.

The Ignorance of Youth!

This really is typical of the younger sections of the left. Young Democrats are not only completely ignorant about the state of the rest of the planet. America is absolutely one of the best places to live on Earth, even if it is not necessarily the singularly best place. It’s entirely reasonable to say that the U.S., along with Western European nations, Australia, New Zealand, and a few others like Japan and South Korea, are on a relatively even platform, with each of the countries having their pluses and minuses. However, to say that America isn’t up there is absolutely ridiculous! It’s certainly the best country when it comes to liberties if nothing else!

It’s also clear that they have no concept of just how militarily powerful the United States is. Nobody on the planet even comes close in terms of military spending and firepower – the next two countries behind America are Russia and China, and it would be an absolute disaster if they were to become the next global military hegemon. While being the world’s policeman isn’t an ideal situation, it’s a far better alternative than having a totalitarian or communist state dominating the planet.
