Navy SEAL Dom Raso was on a morning run in Virginia Beach when he noticed an American flag dangerously close to falling from atop a flag pole.
The stars and stripes had partially broken free from a Navy SEAL monument at the oceanfront, the top barely keeping it from breaking free altogether and plummeting to the ground.
So Raso did just as you’d expect – he climbed to the top and rescued the broken flag.

It wasn’t without some setbacks, as Raso had to try unsuccessfully three separate times to scale the flag pole, eventually succeeding on the fourth try.

“I couldn’t go by this flag this morning and not give it everything I had,” he said in a Facebook post. “The gold stars on this monument and the sacrifice that has been made for all us was something I wasn’t just going to pass by.”
The effort, he explained, reminded him “about EVERYTHING in life.”
Raso was approached by a woman after she witnessed his efforts, saying “God bless you.”
Hating on the American Flag
Raso’s heroics came shortly after liberals celebrated protesters taking down an American flag at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Aurora, Colorado, and replacing it with a Mexican flag.
Master Sergeant Raul Perez “Roy” Benavidez once relayed a story about the American flag and asked liberals an important question about those who put their lives on the line to protect their freedoms.
“How does it feel to enjoy freedom at the expense of my buddy’s life?” he asked.
Most won’t answer, too busy plotting their next protest to tear down, burn, or otherwise desecrate the American flag because they’re so angry over ‘oppression.’
President Trump has previously suggested that people who desecrate the American flag should be subject to losing their citizenship or possibly even jailed.

Raso and the Second Amendment
Raso made some noise in 2016 when he starred in an NRA video explaining why the Second Amendment is so vital for keeping law-abiding Americans safe in the age of terror.
“The only way for us to stay free is by having whatever guns the bad guys have,” he expressed. “Thank God we have the Second Amendment.”
And thank God for this American hero showing people that the flag still means something to most Americans.
