An incredible new portrait of President Trump shows a man who truly respects the flag while taking a shot at NFL players who have been kneeling during the National Anthem.
The painting, done by world-renowned artist Jon McNaughton, portrays a football field complete with yard lines, stadium seating, and a crowd (a presumably dwindling crowd thanks to the players who have protested).
Standing in the middle of that field is one President Trump, a look of concern on his face, cradling and protecting a tattered American flag.
The piece is titled, “Respect the Flag.”
McNaughton added a caption to his latest piece on social media: “When we don’t respect the flag enough to fight for it, we will be the weakest generation.”
My new painting – “Respect the Flag.”

The artist explained his work to Fox 13 in Salt Lake City.
“It’s Donald Trump standing on a football field, and he’s picked up the American Flag that’s been trampled,” McNaughton said. “It’s got grass stains on it, and he’s trying to wipe off some of the mud, and he’s looking at everybody and saying ‘What are you doing? Why did you do this?'”
That’s the question everybody would like answered – Why would you disrespect the flag, the Anthem, your country?
“It’s more than a banner, it represents all the people that have sacrificed, that have died and spilled their blood for this country, and so that’s why it’s so offensive,” McNaughton said of the flag and those who disrespect it.
The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this!

McNaughton said that he was “proud” of President Trump for taking NFL kneelers to task and hoped his work would convey “how millions of Americans felt about this time in our history.”
His work has captured the thoughts of Americans many times, previously painting pictures of Obama golfing while the world behind him burns, as well as a particularly famous piece in which the former President is stepping on the Constitution much to the dismay of our previous presidents.
The Trump flag painting has created quite a stir on the left.
Fucking forever lol at Jon McNaughton, the guy who makes those shitty bland paintings of Obama stepping on the Constitution and Donald Trump cleaning the flag, and how his name is one letter off from the man who directed Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

“I do a lot of divisive type paintings, but I haven’t seen anger for one of my paintings since I painted Obama stepping on the Constitution,” McNaughton lamented.
