MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Accused Of Harassment – Targeted By Feminist

He's old-school and now he's paying for it.

In a recent article for GQ,which used to be a men’s magazine, journo Laura Bassett had some unkind things to say about MSNBC host Chris Matthews.

“In 2017, I wrote about a cable news host being gross and inappropriate with me. I was afraid to name him at the time,” she tweeted on Friday, in addition to the GQ piece. “I’m not anymore; it was Chris Matthews! And his sexist exchange with [Sen. Elizabeth] Warren this week inspired me to revisit those moments and name him.”

After that overwrought set up, the GQ piece took over, as reported by Fox News.

“She recalled Matthews looking at her in the adjacent makeup chair and asking: ‘Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?'”

Then…

“Keep putting makeup on her, I’ll fall in love with her,” Matthews supposedly said.

“Another time, Matthews seemed to make a possessive comment about Bassett and the purpose of her makeup. “Make sure you wipe this off her face after the show. We don’t make her up so some guy at a bar can look at her like this,” Bassett said Matthews told a makeup artist.

“In fact,” Bassett wrote, “Matthews’ whole modus operandi seems to be inviting smart women onto his show, flirting with them or otherwise making them uncomfortable before or while the camera rolls, asking them a question on air and then immediately interrupting them to tell them why they’re wrong.”

The key parts to take away from this are “…his sexist exchange with [Sen. Elizabeth] Warren this week inspired me…” and “…interrupting them to tell them why they’re wrong.”

They show Bassett is motivated mainly by feminist ideology and anger that Matthews doesn’t immediately bow down to every Lefty female that comes on his show, as she would prefer. Her victim act is laughable.

Granted, it’s hard to work up a lot of justified sympathy for a guy who had a man crush on Barack Obama and thus helped to usher into prominence the ideology that is attacking him now.

But boorish male behavior is a staple of old-school DC, and Matthews goes back to the Tip O’Neill/Reagan days in this town. Matthews is just caught in a cosseted time warp.

It’s a reason to roll your eyes. Nothing much more than that is appropriate.
