Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has seen enough – after the Electoral College met across the country, the top Senator congratulated Joe Biden as President-elect.
President Trump has not conceded the election, and insists he will still prevail.
McConnell: “The Electoral College Has Spoken”
“I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” McConnell said on the Senate floor on Tuesday.
“Americans voted in this year’s general election. Legal and Constitutional processes have continued to play out since then,” he continued. “As of this morning, our country has officially a president-elect, and a vice-president elect,” said McConnell.
“Many of us had hoped the presidential election would yield a different result,” McConnell added.
“But our system of government has the processes to determine who will be sworn in on Jan. 20. The Electoral College has spoken.”

McConnell “Pleaded” With Senators Not To Challenge The Electoral College Votes
There is a long-shot theory that Members of Congress could still reject Biden electors and throw the contest to the House of Representatives.
Mitch McConnell seems to be taking that possibility seriously.
On a call between Senators, McConnell and other establishment Republican leaders reportedly “pleaded” with their colleagues not to object to any Biden electors.
The Senate Majority Leader said that the result of a vote challenge would be “terrible” for the GOP, as they would “have to vote it down,” which would make them appear to oppose the President.
Undoubtedly, many conservatives would argue that accepting Biden electors would also “appear” to be opposing the President.

Litigation and challenges remain ongoing in various states, with most commentators in the media giving these efforts a zero percent chances of changing the outcome.
Which could be true – so far, courts at every level have rejected challenges, up to and including the Supreme Court.
The Arizona Republican Party is currently petitioning the Supreme Court to accept their lawsuit, in which they argued they were denied due process via a lack of time to explore alleged fraud.
The Arizona State Senate will also be issuing subpoenas relating to the Dominion Voting machines, software, and votes from Maricopa County, where the Trump legal team had previously argued was subject to fraud.
In Texas, an effort remains to persuade states to appoint Trump electors.

What Does This Mean For Georgia?
With the news now breaking that McConnell has accepted the projected results of the presidential election, it remains to be seen how this will effect the Georgia Senate races, where Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are facing challenges.
Some conservatives have advocated boycotting the election, as they believe that if the election was stolen from President Trump, why should they vote in the same rigged system?
