Mike Huckabee’s New Campaign Video Will Leave You Saying ‘What The?’

Mike Huckabee has a new campaign video out that certainly has people talking.  Mostly, they’re saying – ‘What the hell did I just watch?’

Team Huckabee decided they needed to shake things up a bit on the campaign trail, so they opted to produce … a parody video of Adele’s hit song, Hello.

Via Billboard:

Hello. It’s a bad idea calling.

In the lead-up to the Iowa caucuses, presidential candidates are doing everything to get the vote out — including channeling the world’s most charming person, Adele.

What could go wrong? Well, so much, as is typical whenever politicians attempt to show how “with it” they are with pop culture. This “Hello” parody featuring Mike Huckabee (sample lyric: “Hello from the caucus night/ if Bernie wins I’m gonna die”) is no exception. We definitely recommend just watching the original Adele version of the hit, but if morbid curiosity gets the best of you, well, here you go.

Here is the video in all it’s glory:

At least one person seems to enjoy the video, with the National Review’s Jim Geraghty pointing out that a little humor never hurt anybody.

Eh, it actually made me laugh in a few places, and it’s mostly about the quirks of running in Iowa — “I got frostbite and gangrene” — with a few shots at Ted Cruz and his supporter Glenn Beck thrown in the mix. Huckabee’s at 2.2 percent in Iowa, a state he won eight years ago; his political career is probably in its final chapter. Better Huckabee depart the scene with some laughter than another round of lashing out at his former allies and supporters.

True – The line about “This crazy circus, it’s gone, cuckoo-ca-choo” did actually leave me chucking a bit.

Huckabee had a ton of success in his previous presidential run precisely because of his sense of humor. We’re not sure this effort works though.
