Michael Moore’s One-Man Play Opens to Terrible Reviews

If this is the resistance, we might as well celebrate Trump’s 2020 win now.

Michael Moore, the radical liberal filmmaker who spent 8 years obsessing over George W. Bush, now has his sights set on President Trump.

Rather than make another documentary that nobody watches, Moore, apparently bitten by the drama bug, has written and produced a one-man play.

The star, of course, is Moore. The play is called “The Terms of My Surrender.” Moore has described it as a “12-step meeting for the Democratic Party,” which is fitting given that Trump mopped the floor with the party of Clinton and Obama last Election Day.

The play opened at New York City’s Belasco Theater yesterday. The reviews are already in. And the verdict is near-unanimous: Moore’s latest is a great big stinker!

From the Washington Free Beacon:

Here is a round-up of critics who reviewed Moore’s Broadway debut:

“You don’t have to disagree with Mr. Moore’s politics to find that his shtick has become disagreeable with age,” the New York Times‘ Jesse Green wrote. “‘The Terms of My Surrender,’ which opened on Thursday at the Belasco, is a bit like being stuck at Thanksgiving dinner with a garrulous, self-regarding, time-sucking uncle. Gotta love him — but maybe let’s turn on the television.”

“Audiences hoping for a bit of feel-good liberal therapy, let alone a good show, may be disappointed to find that Mr. Moore isn’t very interested in them. He’s not preaching to the choir: He’s bragging to it,” Green added.

“Michael Moore looked like a fish out of water — or was it a deer in headlights?” the Los Angeles Times‘ Charles McNulty wrote.

Well, that’s a shame. Liberals are supposed to be good at art. They’re the ones who write librettos, compose poetry, paint pictures, and sing songs, all while conservatives pay taxes to support them. That’s the traditional arrangement anyway.

But rather than provide an actual usable blueprint for the Democrats to pick their battered party up off the ground, Moore went for petulant self-indulgence.

Like I said before, if Moore’s the resistance, President Trump has nothing to fear.

  1. Michael Moore is a very talented person.
Unfortunately, his narcissism overrides his creative talents and has botched up most of his “creations”.
He and his narcissism remind me of “wet-start” McCain. However, I am not aware that Moore´s narcissism has cost hundreds of Americans´ their lives, as has the narcissism of “wet-start” McCain.

  2. Michael Moore is a disgrace to this country. His antics are ridiculous and his over all attitude toward any Republican president is horrifying. So Michael go home lick your wounds and do something constructive with you life like move to another country because your are an embarrassment to America.

  3. Inquiring minds ( OLDER minds) wonder what happened to ‘The Beaver’, from the Cleaver
Family. ” Gosh, Wally, is dad home yet “?
If his intellect matched his girth / bulk, he would be a formidable convert to conservatism.

  4. Moore is a bane upon American society, culture and politics. He never adds, only takes away! He should concentrate on getting his blood glucose levels under control and leave the rest of us alone. BTW Michael where DO you get all those spiffy ball caps?!!!

  5. This fat load of trash lucked into one genuine success and has been riding on that ever since. He’s utterly disgusting in EVERY way; physically, emotionally, what have you.

SO glad to see this filthy fraud being outed as the untalented hack he’s always been.

  6. Poor little irrelevant man…you almost feel sorry for this dolt while he grasps as straws to keep himself afloat so he doesn’t have to give up his mansion and his cheeseburgers.

Sure they have already closed that mess down. Sounds like a total BELLY flop.

  7. ” They’re the ones who write librettos, compose poetry, paint pictures, and sing songs, all while conservatives pay taxes to support them.”

You really are an ass, aren’t you?

  8. Ugly, fat, Marxists are no longer vogue. I hope he keeps trying to bilk capitalists by spending all his own money, preaching socialism to them, until his ultimate demise…still fat, still ugly, but now broke, in an adult high chair, sitting in his own soil and drooling…”socialism works, it works and I’m the evidence!”
