Michael Avenatti, the fame-seeking lawyer of fame-seeking porn star Stormy Daniels, announced that he’s “serious” about running for president in 2020.
Never mind that he made this announcement at the least serious place possible: on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Yes, you read that correctly. For whatever reason – presumably, fame-seeking – Avenatti attended the MTV VMAs Monday night.

The entertainment world was just as confused at Avenatti’s presence as everyone else. However, when a Variety reporter kindly asked him to explain what in the world he was doing there, he obtusely answered that he “was invited.” The conversation then turned to Avenatti’s potential presidential bid, and he said that he was “seriously looking at it”:
“I am, I’m serious about it. I’m seriously looking at it,” Avenatti said. “I’m traveling around talking to people in the country, and I’ve been really surprised at how much enthusiasm there is for the potential.
“I’m going to make a decision, be smart about it, deliberative.”

Avenatti’s bizarre supposed campaign kick-off comes just one week after he released a list of “policy positions,” including a ban on so-called assault weapons, free Medicare for everyone, and fully funding Planned Parenthood.
Many have asked me my position on various issues. Below is a summary of where I stand. This is not an exhaustive list and more positions & details will follow. Most importantly, I didn’t have to hire a pollster or political consultant to tell me what to say or what to believe. pic.twitter.com/hbXj1Vv3O9

However, until Avenatti files FEC documents registering to run for office, take his “campaign” with a huge grain of salt. More likely than not, he just wanted to surround himself with a bunch of other fame-seekers who needlessly hate Donald Trump – and the VMAs were the perfect venue.
