On Tuesday, Melania Trump joined her fellow former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton in attending the funeral of Rosalynn Carter, who died earlier this month at the age of 96. While there, Melania enjoyed a touching moment with the country music star Garth Brooks after he performed at the funeral with his wife Trisha Yearwood.

Brooks And Melania Share Moment

Daily Mail reported that Melania was seen thanking Brooks after he and Yearwood performed the John Lennon song “Imagine” at the funeral. Brooks responded by giving Melania a kiss on the cheek in a move that undoubtedly enraged liberals everywhere.

Brooks Honors Rosalynn

Brooks and Yearwood had gotten to know the former President Jimmy Carter and his wife during their time doing volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity.

“It’s tough. President [Jimmy] Carter calls Ms. Yearwood his second favorite Georgia peach,” Brooks told reporters they day after Rosalynn’s death, according to American Songwriter. “All I can think about right now is, when you think about President Carter, you don’t say one without the other.”

“They were inseparable,” he continued. “Miss Yearwood called her ‘quiet warrior.’ If you ever got to hang around her, President Carter always steals the show, and then when it comes time for her to speak, she’ll walk to the mic. What she says is very quiet but yet very powerful.”

Brooks went on to pay further tribute to Rosalynn.

“If you ever got to hang around her, President Carter always steals the show, and then when it comes time for her to speak, she’ll walk to the mic. What she says is very quiet but yet very powerful,” said Brooks. “She taught us all that the lion doesn’t have to roar.’ The statement doesn’t have to be more than a few words to get your point across. She was great at that, and everyone loved her for that.”

“A light has gone out that shines on how we should treat each other,” Brooks concluded. “But if we all pick that light up, maybe that light can grow instead of disappear.”

Judy Woodruff Takes Jab At Trump

As for Melania, she was the epitome of class at the Rosalynn’s funeral, though this can’t have been easy at times. While sitting in the front row, Melania maintained her composure even in the face of the longtime White House reporter Judy Woodruff taking a classless jab at her husband, the former President Donald Trump, while paying tribute to Rosalynn.

“As they were celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary, I asked them how they thought President Biden was doing early in his term,” Woodruff said, referring to her final interview with the Carters in July of 2021. “President Carter was very specific on issue after issue, and quite complimentary of the new president.”

“Mrs. Carter said simply, ‘It’s a great relief to have him in office,'” she added, according to Newsweek.

Though Melania was sitting directly in front of Woodruff in the first row of the church, she did not give the reporter the satisfaction of reacting to this nonsense.

Though Brooks performed at Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021, we’re glad to see that unlike Woodruff, he chose to put whatever differences he may have with Melania aside to be respectful towards her at Rosalynn’s funeral. In the end, the way Melania carried herself at this event just goes to show what an incredible first lady and representation of America that she was and always will be.
