Megyn Kelly Torches U.S. Women’s Soccer Team For Disrespecting National Anthem

Disturbing video went viral over the weekend showing most of the members of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team refusing to sing and even place their hands over their hearts during the national anthem before their World Cup opener in New Zealand on Friday. This was in stark contrast to their opposing team from Vietnam, whose players were seen proudly belting out their own national anthem.

Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is firing back by torching the woke American women’s soccer team for disrespecting the national anthem in such a blatant way.

U.S. Women’s Soccer Team Disrespect National Anthem

Daily Mail reported that before the U.S. Women’s Soccer team defeated Vietnam 3-0, six of the eleven starting American players declined to place their hands over their hearts for the national anthem. Of the five players who did place their hands over their hearts, only three felt enough pride to sing our national anthem.

Their Vietnamese opponents proceeded to show them what patriotism actually looks like, as all of the players were seen with their hands over their hearts while they sang the lyrics to their national anthem with pride.

Megyn Kelly Fires Back

During her podcast on Monday, Kelly let loose on the American team, saying that their behavior during the national anthem shows that they “hate” our country.

“I really do believe their version of what a feminist is, what it means to be an empowered woman, at least as an American woman, means you need to hate your country,” Kelly began. “It means to go out on the national stage and embarrass yourself and your country by not singing the national anthem.”

“For several of them, not even holding their hands over their hearts when the national anthem played, that was a bridge too far,” she continued. “They couldn’t be bothered to actually place their hand on their heart as the national anthem played, as they stood out there representing you and me and the country and our military and people who have given their lives for the country that they represent.”

Kelly went on to place some of the blame for their actions on the woke soccer star Megan Rapinoe, who has long fancied herself to be the woke Colin Kaepernick of the women’s soccer world. Rapinoe followed Kaepernick’s lead in taking a knee during the national anthem back in 2017, and she’s spent the years since then bashing America seemingly every chance she gets.

“It was too much of an effort [for them] to place their hand over their heart, or God forbid, sing,” Kelly said. “And by the way, Megan Rapinoe, too. She’s on the team. She announced her retirement….She said she’ll never stand again for the national anthem, this [team behavior] is clearly, I think, as a result of her influence, and it’s disgusting.”

Kelly Doubles Down

While Rapinoe would undoubtedly have loved to get another chance to disrespect the national anthem on the international stage, she was not actually on the field during this latest incident, so Kelly shifted back to letting her teammates have it.

“What an incredible opportunity to stand out there, representing the United States of America in World Cup soccer, and you can’t be shamed into at least feigning a touch of patriotism,” Kelly lamented. “We’re disgusting I guess when it comes to human rights. This is what people like Rapinoe have said in the past. So we can’t be saluted in any way.”

It’s sad that we live in a time in which woke athletes like Kaepernick and Rapinoe have made it “cool” to disrespect America and the national anthem in front of the entire world. Many of us are old enough to remember a time in which American athletes actually took pride in our country and our flag, but those days are sadly long gone.

At least nobody was taking a knee this time.
