Marjorie Taylor Greene Introduces Censure Resolution For ‘Foreign Agent’ Ilhan Omar ‘Of Somalia’

Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution to censure Representative Ilhan Omar following the release of controversial videos in which some believe the Minnesota Democrat suggested her allegiance is with her homeland of Somalia.

In one video, Omar allegedly suggests the United States government will “follow orders” and “do what I tell them to do” in regard to foreign relations involving her homeland. In another, she is accused of calling the Somali leader Hassan Sheikh Mohamud “our President” and suggesting he refers to her as “his girl.”

Greene introduced a resolution to censure Omar in a speech on the House floor as only she can, ‘accidentally’ referring to Omar as hailing from Somalia.

“Censuring Ilhan Omar of Somali — I mean — Minnesota,” she said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants Ilhan Omar Deported

Greene’s censure resolution seeks to force a vote by leadership within two days or have the measure tabled, according to The Hill.

The resolution highlights Omar’s alleged violation of her oath of allegiance to America and condemns her statements as detrimental to national security.

Greene flat-out accuses Omar of acting as a “foreign agent.”

“Ilhan Omar needs to be censured. I urge my colleagues to vote to censure her, but also urge my colleagues that we need to join together to stop foreign agents serving in our government, in the interests of foreign countries,” she said. “We serve the United States of America, and that’s it.”

Speaking to reporters afterward, Marjorie Taylor Greene suggested that the motion to censure was actually a compromise because she would prefer to take things further.

“I would love to expel her; I think she should be deported, I honestly do,” she said.

Greene also contends that Omar’s defense that her comments were taken out of context or mistranslated is false.

“Any person that’s been elected to represent the United States government that admits in a speech in public that’s on video — it wasn’t changed, she’s lying when she says that — and she says that she’s representing the interest of a foreign government in her role as the United States representative, she should be expelled and deported,” she said.

“Unfortunately I don’t think we’d have the votes for that, so that’s why I introduced a censure resolution instead.”

What are the odds Republicans have the stomach for even the censure vote?

You’ll Never Guess What Omar Thinks Is Behind The Outrage

This may come as a complete surprise to some, but Omar thinks outrage from Marjorie Taylor Greene and others over her comments is due to racism.

She dismissed Greene’s effort telling The Hill, “I have nothing to say about the insanity of that woman.”

“The attacks being lobbed against me are not only completely false, they are rooted in xenophobia and Islamophobia,” Omar said.

Left-wing media outlets have insisted the translation of the video remarks by Omar is false and we here at The Political Insider have approached the matter with caution.

Omar, who admits in the video to struggling with speaking Somali, has her speech translated by Somaliland sources, whom she is highly critical of, opening it up to bias. The language itself lends itself to difficult translation, so the words must be taken with a grain of salt.

The Daily Wire claims to have had an “independent translator” confirm the content of the first video.

“The US government will only do what Somalians in the US tell them to do,” Omar says according to captions attached to the video. “They will do what we want and nothing else.”

“They must follow our orders and that is how we will safeguard the interest of Somalia,” she reportedly adds. “We Somalians must have the confidence in ourselves that we call the shots in the US.”

Florida Governo Ron DeSantis has sided with Marjorie Taylor Greene, insisting Omar should be expelled from Congress and deported.

“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” he wrote on X.
