Marjorie Taylor Greene And Thomas Massie Throw Their House Mask Violation Warnings In The Trash

This week, two Republican representatives received letters from the House Sergeant at Arms, who warned them against violating Nancy Pelosi’s mask policy in the lower chamber.

So the two Republicans subsequently trashed those warnings. Literally.

Rep. Massie Shared A Photo Of His Mask Violation Warning In The Trash

Libertarian-leaning Kentucky Republican Thomas Massie shared a tweet on Wednesday that had a photo showing he had thrown House Sergeant at Arms William J. Walker’s letter in the trash.

Massie wrote, “Just filed @SpeakerPelosi’s letter warning me to follow her mask rule.”

The warning to Massie reads, “Pursuant to House Resolution 38, you were observed not wearing a mask on the Floor of the House on May 18, 2021.”

“You were then asked by a member of my staff to wear a mask while in the Hall of the House of Representatives, unless recognized to speak by the chair,” it continued.

The warning told its recipients that another violation could cost them $500 in the form of a fine.

Greene: ‘You Can’t Discriminate Against People Simply Because They Won’t Wear A Mask’

Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week saying that vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks in most indoor and outdoor situations, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not lifting her mask mandate in the House.

So much for following the science.

Because William J. Walker holds the position of Sergeant at Arms, his job is to enforce House rules–no matter how arbitrary or anti-science Pelosi makes them.

Multiple Republican lawmakers defied the House rules this week after new guidance from the CDC.

Massie wasn’t the only member trashing his warnings.

On Wednesday, Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had a similar message about her warning: She put it through a paper shredder.

Greene wrote on Twitter, “You can’t discriminate against people simply because they won’t wear a mask and today I refused to wear a mask on the House floor and I received a warning from Speaker Pelosi that leads to fines if I continue to refuse to wear a mask.”

“Well, here’s what I think of your warning, Speaker Pelosi,” Greene said, as she proceeded to shred the document.

GOP Reps. Brian Mast, Beth Van Duyne, and Mariannette Miller-Meeks were also issued $500 fines for violating the House’s mask mandate.

Also receiving fines for the same violation was Republican Reps. Lauren Boebert, Chip Roy, Bob Good, Mary Miller, and Louie Gohmert.

Few of them looked too upset about it.
