CNN Contributor Calls For Destruction of Israel

UPDATE – Marc Lamont Hill has been let go by CNN:

Original article:

CNN political commentator Marc Lamont Hill called for the destruction of Israel and incited violence against Jews in front of a United Nations panel Wednesday.

The startling comments come as the network has released a poll in which they reveal “anti-Semitism is once again a growing problem” in parts of Europe.

Hill, who CNN boasts is “one of the leading intellectual voices in the country” on his bio page, defended the use of terrorism and violence by the Palestinian resistance, saying “we must recognize the right of an occupied people to defend itself.”

“We must prioritize peace, but we must not romanticize or fetishize it,” Hill added, concluding that “justice requires … a free Palestine from the river to the sea.”

Hill parrots Hamas terrorist talking points

The phrase, “from the river to the sea,” has been used by the terrorist organization Hamas, and is widely regarded as a mantra calling for the destruction of Israel.

In a statement to the Jewish Journal, Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) senior vice president Sharon Nazarian said “Those calling for ‘from the river to the sea’ are calling for an end to the State of Israel.”

A blog entry at the Times of Israel cites the same phrase, indicating it means “in no uncertain terms (Palestine) is free of Jews” and “is a paean for extermination, for another Holocaust.”

Seth Mandel, an executive editor for the Washington Examiner magazine, referred to Hill’s comments as “mainstream genocidal anti-Semitism.”

CNN’s silence is deafening

CNN has, thus far, refused to comment on one of their pundits calling for the destruction of Israel. Shocking, since they just released a poll lamenting the rise of anti-Semitism in Germany.

In the aforementioned poll, CNN labeled the anti-Semitism “right wing.” Very convenient!

“Some Jewish teachers and students say they are caught between a surge of traditional right-wing anti-Semitism and threats from Muslim immigrants angry at Israel,” they wrote regarding a poll showing “55% agree that anti-Semitism is a growing problem in Germany.”

CNN loudly condemned President Trump after the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting

Contrast their network’s unwillingness to speak out against Hill with how they blamed President Trump, without evidence, for the anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in October.

Contributor Dean Obeidallah wrote an op-ed column blasting Trump as a hypocrite for denouncing the shooting, adding that the President in the past has “had no problem with anti-Semitism being used as a tool to silent Jewish journalists.”

They followed that effort with the perpetually bewildered Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large, blaming Trump’s disdain toward political correctness for a rise in hate speech, which was a catalyst for the attack.

Now however … crickets.

Hill has previously been so vociferous in his defense of terrorist organizations like Hamas and his desire to see Israel destroyed, that he once ended up in tears during an on-air debate.
